 CLEAN SWEEP WEEK/HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DAY
  
  
The City Council of the City of Lampasas has proclaimed the week of April 7th thru 12th as Clean Sweep Week. The City Council has dedicated the week to city wide clean up program in Lampasas. During the wee, special roll-off containers will be made available at the Public Works facility located at 201 Brown Street.
  
Please bring a copy of your City of Lampasas utility bill or stub. Citizens may dump their trash in the containers provided during the designated times. A City employee will be onsite to assist in unloading.

 2014 CITY COUNCIL ELECTION

   

The City of Lampasas will not be holding a General Election on May 10, 2014 due to the following candidates being unopposed. The following candidates are declared elected to office, and shall be issued certificates of election following the time the election would have been canvassed. Oaths will be taken on May 27, 2014.

SOUTH STREET TO SPRING HO AVENUE
   
On March 10, 2014, the Lampasas City Council passed and approved Ordinance No. 1416, which changes South Street to Spring Ho Avenue. The Spring Ho Festival is an annual event held on the second weekend of July in Lampasas that is led by the Spring Ho Committee. The Spring Ho festival provides the citizens of Lampasas with festivities and events that is enjoyed by all ages. The Spring Ho Committee volunteers countless hours during this annual event. The Spring Ho Committee's office is presently located on South Street.  Renaming the street to Spring Ho Avenue, recognizes not only the location of their office, but it also recognizes the name of the event that has been held in Lampasas since 1972. The City Council recognizes the importance of the street name and addresses in the City of Lampasas. The name change seems appropriate and notification has been provided to the Central Texas Council of Governments for 911 purposes.

Photo-of-the-Month Contest: Enter our photo-of-the-month contest by visiting www.cityoflampasas.com for contest rules and emailing your photo to photocontest@cityoflampasas.com . The City Council will announce the monthly winning photo at the first regular City Council meeting. Winners will receive a City of Lampasas insulated tumbler w/straw and posting of their photo on the web site.

 

First Call Emergency Notification System: In an effort to improve communication with the public, during emergency situations, the City of Lampasas is implementing the FirstCall Emergency Notification System. In the event of an emergency FirstCall will send alerts to you via phone, email, or text notifications.To be sure that all affected citizens of the city and county can be contacted, we are encouraging everyone to sign up for the FirstCall system by filling out the registration form found at http://alertregistration.com/LampasasTX/ .

 

Can You Be Located In An Emergency? The owner of every house or building within the City is required to have a house number placed theron that is readily visible from the public right-of-way on which the structure fronts or faces. The numbers shall be a minimum of three inches in height and contrast with the background on which they are placed, made of material that will not tarnish, corrode or deteriorate unreasonably. Not only will this assist emergency personnel but the US Postal service as well.
