 The City of Lampasas E-Newsletter is filled with information about your local government, events and activities in the community.

   

FIRE DEPARTMENT REMINDER

 

The Lampasas Fire Department is asking for the donations of new toys, unopened canned goods, or cash donations for the annual toy hand out on December 14th. Money donations are tax deductible. Please drop off your donations at the Lampasas Fire Department at 1107 E. 4th St. If you have any questions, please contact the Lampasas Fire Department 512-556-3446.

  

DECEMBER WASTE MANAGEMENT SCHEDULE
 
Waste Management services will run on Monday and Tuesday the week of Christmas, then run behind on Thursday and Friday. (Thursday will be serviced on Friday and Friday on Saturday) The week of New Years will be the same. If you have any questions, contact City Hall 512-556-6831.   
    
 PUBLIC UTILITIES REMINDER
  
Utility bills can be paid by bank draft as a convenient tool to avoid late fees, mailing time, and save a trip to City Hall. Please call the Utility office for more details at 512-556-3641.

December 6: "Bears" preschool story time at the Library at 10am. Contact Library 512-556-3251.
  
December 7: Carol of Lights and Lighted Christmas Parade at the Courtyard Square. Contact Chamber 512-556-5172.
  
December 7: Kids Fishing at W.M. Brook Park from 9am-12pm. Kids ages 5-16. Group ages 5-8, 9-12, 13-16. The creek has been stocked with trout. Registration will begin at 8am on the South side of the Park at the double picnic table. Contact Micky 512-734-1076.
  
December 9: Christmas Toy/Food Drive Luncheon at the Fire Department from 11am-2pm. Please bring a canned good, an unopened new toy or a cash donation. Contact Fire Department 512-556-3446.

Congratulations to Nichole Mitchell!
  The City Council chose the October 2013 photo contest winner at the November 12th Council meeting. Her photo, "Badger Pride" was taken at Hanna Springs Elementary.

Photo-of-the-Month Contest: Enter our photo-of-the-month contest by visiting www.cityoflampasas.com for contest rules and emailing your photo to [email protected] . The City Council will announce the monthly winning photo at the first regular City Council meeting. Winners will receive a City of Lampasas insulated tumbler w/straw and posting of their photo on the web site.

 

First Call Emergency Notification System: In an effort to improve communication with the public, during emergency situations, the City of Lampasas is implementing the FirstCall Emergency Notification System. In the event of an emergency FirstCall will send alerts to you via phone, email, or text notifications.To be sure that all affected citizens of the city and county can be contacted, we are encouraging everyone to sign up for the FirstCall system by filling out the registration form found at http://alertregistration.com/LampasasTX/ .

 

Can You Be Located In An Emergency? The owner of every house or building within the City is required to have a house number placed theron that is readily visible from the public right-of-way on which the structure fronts or faces. The numbers shall be a minimum of three inches in height and contrast with the background on which they are placed, made of material that will not tarnish, corrode or deteriorate unreasonably. Not only will this assist emergency personnel but the US Postal service as well.
