CLEAN SWEEP WEEK

 

Clean Sweep Week will be April 8th - April 13th. We will not be having a Household Hazardous Waste Day this year. Please contact City Hall for more information at 556-6831.

 

2013 CITY COUNCIL ELECTION
 

The City of Lampasas is holding a General Election on May 11, 2013 for the purpose of electing Mayor and City Council members.

EVENTS

   

Adult Softball Spring League: Lampasas Adult Softball Association has sanctioned with USSSA for the upcoming leagues and tournaments. Lonestar Softball series will kick off the new season with a tournament April 20-21, 2013 at the 580 Sports Complex www.lonestarsoftball.com . Any teams interested in Spring League contact Misti Talbert at 512-734-2107 or Rex Bumpus at 512-734-1204.

 

April 1: First day to pre-order Phil Robertson's book Happy, Happy, Happy  at the Library ($15); books will be available for pick-up on the release date, May 7.

 

April 3: "Insects" story time at the Library at 10am. Contact Library 556-3251.

 

April 4: Dallas Doc will be at the Library at 6pm. Dr. David Carlton is a humorist, columnist and entertainer that is known for his comedy, storytelling, cowboy poetry and songs that intriques all ages. Contact Library 556-3251.

April 16: James Robertson will be at the Library at 6pm. James Robertson, brother of Phil Robertson, the original Duck Commander, will be sharing stories from his book The Legend of the Duck Commander as well as his experiences in writing. There will be light refreshments and Duck Commander door prizes. April 16 is also the deadline to pre-order Phil Robertson's book, which will be released May 7. Contact Library 556-3251.

 

April 17: "Bloomin' Flowers" story time at the Library at 10am. Contact Library 556-3251.

April 27: Paws for a Cause Dog Walk. Walmart and Friends of Lampasas Animal Shelter are sponsoring a fun day at the WM Brook Park, Lampasas, Ruth Eakin Outdoor Theater, to benefit the animals of the Lampasas Animal Shelter. Events include dog walk, doggie arts & crafts, food, silent auction, contests, on-site vet clinic to offer dog & cat vaccinations, heartworm tests & microchips and much more. Event registration is at 10 am and the Dog Walk begins at 11:30 am. Entry forms and T-shirts can be picked up at the Lampasas Animal Shelter. Photo-of-the-Month Contest: Enter our photo-of-the-month contest by visiting www.cityoflampasas.com for contest rules and emailing your photo to photocontest@cityoflampasas.com . The City Council will announce the monthly winning photo at the first regular City Council meeting. Winners will receive a City of Lampasas insulated tumbler w/straw and posting of their photo on the web site.

 

First Call Emergency Notification System: In an effort to improve communication with the public, during emergency situations, the City of Lampasas is implementing the FirstCall Emergency Notification System. In the event of an emergency FirstCall will send alerts to you via phone, email, or text notifications.To be sure that all affected citizens of the city and county can be contacted, we are encouraging everyone to sign up for the FirstCall system by filling out the registration form found at http://alertregistration.com/LampasasTX/ .

 

Can You Be Located In An Emergency? The owner of every house or building within the City is required to have a house number placed theron that is readily visible from the public right-of-way on which the structure fronts or faces. The numbers shall be a minimum of three inches in height and contrast with the background on which they are placed, made of material that will not tarnish, corrode or deteriorate unreasonably. Not only will this assist emergency personnel but the US Postal service as well.
