FIRE DEPARTMENT REMINDER

  

 In May 2011, The Texas legislature passed House Bill 1168 (HB 1168), updating the Texas Property Code to require the installation of smoke alarms in all bedrooms of rental properties throughout the state. The new law requires that bedrooms of rental properties not already equipped with a smoke alarm be retrofitted not later than January 1, 2013. If you live in rental property that is not equipped with smoke alarms please contact the Lampasas Fire Department 556-3446.

 

2013 CITY COUNCIL ELECTION
 

The City of Lampasas is holding a General Election on May 11, 2013 for the purpose of electing Mayor and City Council members.

Place 1: Wesley Alexander

Place 2: Bradley Neely

Place 6: Chris Harrison

 

January 30: First day for filing application for place on ballot.

 

March 1: Deadline to file application for place on ballot.

McCoy Tree Trimming: Will start tree trimming at the end of December for the City of Lampasas and will be here for about 9 weeks. Areas will be door tagged before trimming is done in the area.

 

Tap Dance Classes: (Tuesdays) Intermediate Class at 5:30pm and Beginner Class at 6:00pm. Contact Beverly Jones 556-8405.

 

February 6: "Valentine's Day" Story Time at the Library at 10am with Ms. Emily. Contact Library 556-3251.

Photo-of-the-Month Contest: Enter our photo-of-the-month contest by visiting www.cityoflampasas.com for contest rules and emailing your photo to photocontest@cityoflampasas.com . The City Council will announce the monthly winning photo at the first regular City Council meeting. Winners will receive a City of Lampasas insulated tumbler w/straw and posting of their photo on the web site.

 

First Call Emergency Notification System: In an effort to improve communication with the public, during emergency situations, the City of Lampasas is implementing the FirstCall Emergency Notification System.
