Veterans Park Gets New Football Field
The Parks & Recreation Department broke ground in July on a new football field at Veterans Memorial Park. The new field is being built with zero city dollars, relying entirely on grants and park impact fees.

Phase One of the new 100 yard football field project will include a laser graded playing field, irrigation system, energy efficient lighting, scoreboard, short fence around football field to separate players and coaches from spectators, expanded parking, announcers booth and refurbished bleachers sporting the league's red and black color scheme. The entire park will be fenced in for safety. The 2012 football season kicks off in September with The Palm Bay Youth Athletic Association celebrating 40 years of service to the community.
