Better Together 2016 Summer Reading Challenge Wrap-Up

One of our library's goals is to create fun, hands-on learning experiences for kids and teens to keep them reading, learning, and growing throughout the summer so that when school starts in the fall, students are ready to learn, not just play catch-up.

In eight weeks this summer, we presented 196 classes and events at the library and in the community, with 5,367 people in attendance. Completing the reading portion of the challenge were 315 children and 41 teens with participants logging 6,949 books. Congratulations to all of our participants - we are so proud of you!

Also, congratulations to Concord Elementary School in Darien for having the highest percentage of readers who met their reading goals this summer!
