1000 Books Before Kindergarten
1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program encourages parents to read 1,000 books with their children before they enter kindergarten to ensure they have the early literacy skills to succeed.

Children who read 1,000 books will receive a paperback and join our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten "Wall of Fame." To register, visit the Kids & Teens Ask Us Desk.

Thank you to the Darien Rotary Club for their sponsorship of this program.

Gunapatel had never drawn before retiring two years ago after a 40-year career in engineering. He has since drawn more than 600 portraits.

The display runs through the end of August.
