Our online catalog has a new look and improved functionality, including easier to use search results. When doing a search, the items at IPPL now show in the list so you can see what's on the shelf here at a glance without having to click into the item's full record.

The Sound Teen Battle of the Bands
IPPL will host its fourth annual teen music competition on Saturday, June 25. Performers of any style of music ages 12-18 should apply by Saturday, June 18 at thesound.ippl.info.

Summer Reading Challenge
For Kids & Teens * Through Aug. 6
In addition, kids (birth-grade 6) can make a summer reading pledge - all that's needed to get started is a reading log available at the Kids & Teens Ask Us Desk. When kids reach their goal, they will receive one free book of their choosing and a ticket for our grand prize drawing!

Call to Action Food Drive
The participants in our June 1 Call to Action Workshop (grades 3-6) are running a food drive to benefit People's Resource Center in Westmont, and a donation box will be located at the foot of our staircase through July 14. Special thanks to Gower West teachers Mrs. McCandless and Mrs. Bjork for working with these students.

Community Gardening Project with Sunny Patch
Thursday, June 9, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Families can help to plant a pop-up community garden at the library with the Good Worx Sunny Patch Project. All of the food grown will be shared with local at-risk families. Presented by Good Worx Inc. Register here.

STEM in the Park

Harvester Park Wetlands
15W400 Harvester Dr., Burr Ridge
Students in grades 6-8 will make simple water filtration devices to use in the wetlands and learn what can be filtered out of the water. We will also use microscopes to learn about what lives in the water. Presented by Gower Middle School teachers Ms. Haney and Mr. Ramsey. Register here. |
