Under the Radar:
Books in a Series
For those with a long winter break ahead, Mary K. Paxson, readers advisory assistant and leader of the Novel Idea book discussion group, recommends some favorite book series.
Are you a fan of books in a series? Hours of enjoyable reading can be found in works by the following authors. I love when a good story never ends!
Susan Hill writes the Simon Serrailler Mysteries, which feature a handsome detective with an artistic side who's a little intriguing, a little seductive, and who always gets his man (or woman). Series begins with The Various Haunts of Men.
Julia Spencer-Fleming gives us the Rev. Clare Fergusson/Russ Van Alstyne Mysteries. The novice Episcopal priest and chief of police solve cases in a small upstate New York town. The series, great on characters and relationships, starts with In the Bleak Midwinter.
Martin Walker has created the Bruno Courreges Series. This former soldier resides in a small southern French town and keeps the peace for a cast of well-rounded characters with a French flair. Series starts with Bruno, Chief of Police
