It's Giving Tuesday!

Today is Giving Tuesday, and the IPPL Foundation has joined this national campaign that encourages community members to give back in the spirit of the season.

As you make your contributions today, please consider making a donation to the Foundation, buying a brick for the reading garden path, or buying a leaf for the donor tree in the lobby.

The Foundation's mission is to support the library as an essential center of learning, inspiration, and community pride. It provides funds to support diverse programs and classes, enrich the library's collections, and provide cutting-edge library enhancements. To learn more, click here.

food for fines
Food for Fines

Help us help the community this holiday season by donating nonperishable food and personal care items to our Food for Fines drive this Saturday, Dec. 5 through Sunday, Dec. 13. All items collected will be distributed to the food pantries at Our Lady of Peace and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Darien.

During the Food for Fines program, if those making donations have fines due, the library will waive one dollar of fines owed for each item donated. However, community members don't need to have fines due, or even have a library card, to contribute to the drive.

Suggested donations include boxed or canned foods (especially cereal and canned soups), peanut butter and jelly, toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissues, shampoo, toothpaste, and deodorant. No opened or expired items, please.
