Join us as JeanMarie Brownson, Chicago Tribune Good Eating columnist, culinary director for Frontera Foods, and author of the new cookbook Dinner At Home, provides a cooking demonstration of recipes from her book next Wednesday, Nov. 18, 7-8:30 p.m. The event will include a book signing, and Barbara's Bookstore of Burr Ridge will be on hand to sell copies of the book. Learn to Harvest Seeds

The Darien Garden Club will have a seed harvesting booth at our Seed Library next Thursday, Nov. 19, 3-5 p.m. The Seed Library is at the entrance to the Kids & Teens department on the second floor.

Club members will show people how to harvest seeds from garden plants as they wind down. They'll have examples of seed heads, photos of the flowers they produce, and a power point of flowers and their respective seed heads. No registration needed - drop in!

TONIGHT: An Evening with Author A. S. King

A. S. King, bestselling author of Ask the Passengers and Please Ignore Vera Dietz, will discuss writing, her books, and the life of an author tonight, Nov. 10, 7-9 p.m. Cool Compositions Contest prizes will also be awarded.

Veterans Day Celebration

Drop by the lobby to celebrate Veterans Day this Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2:30-4:30 p.m. We will have information about the Veterans History Project as well as a display of DVDs, books, and other resources about veterans and the wars they fought.
