Don't forget to get your tickets for Dancing in the Spooky Stacks, the IPPL Foundation's unique fundraising event featuring an after-hours library performance by The Neverly Brothers, on Saturday, Oct. 24, 7-10 p.m. A costume contest, cash bar, and light snacks will be available. Must be 21 or older to attend.
Tickets are available for purchase at the library or by calling the Checkout Desk at (630) 887-8760. With our October Savings Spook-tacular, they are $20 each and 25% off if you buy four or more (while supplies last). VIP tickets (limited quantity) are $50 and include a meet and greet with the band, reserved seating with a full view of the stage, an autographed event poster signed by the band, and two beverage tickets. Cool Compositions Contest for Teens
Calling all teen writers! Submit poems, short stories, and/or song lyrics for our Cool Compositions Contest. Entry forms are available at writeon.ippl.info and at the Kids & Teens Ask Us Desk. The entry deadline is Nov. 1.
Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners in each category, and winners will be announced on Nov. 10 during An Evening with A. S. King. King, the bestselling author of Ask the Passengers and Please Ignore Vera Dietz, will discuss writing, her books, and the life of an author at a 7 p.m. program.

New for Kids: Write-on Jr.
Kids in grades 5 and 6 can share the buzz of the 10th anniversary of the Write-on Teen Literary Festival. Introducing Write-On Jr.! Kids can submit poetry and short stories for a chance to win Barnes & Noble gift cards. There will be one winner in each category. Entries are due Nov. 1. Finding the Novel Inside of You
Have an idea for writing a novel? Author William Hazelgrove will share secrets and methods for getting started this Wednesday, Oct. 7, 7-8:30 p.m. He'll also give advice for keeping at it through the first draft and subsequent revisions, and cover the "ins-and-outs" of getting published. Mighty Mid-Kids-Board Game Play
