StoryShare
Have you shared your family's story with IPPL yet? StoryShare is an oral history project in which community members are invited to interview family members while a trained IPPL volunteer operates the recording equipment. The interview theme is "family," and sample questions can be provided. Participants will receive a CD of the interview while the library keeps a copy to preserve for future generations. For more information or to make an interview appointment, call Joe Popowitch at 630/887-8760 ext. 240.

Family Challenge

Complete our Family Challenge for a chance to win an IPPL throw blanket!

The Family Challenge is a simple bingo-style activity which is part of our Homemade Readers Summer Reading Challenge. To mark a spot on their cards, participants may need to "download a song, movie, or tv show on Hoopla," "ask a librarian for a book recommendation," and/or "access a magazine on Zinio." Once participants have filled out a row, column, or diagonal, they have completed the Family Challenge!

Many of the activities are difficult for children to do on their own, so the idea is to get the whole family involved. Kids should sign up with their household. Adults can sign up as individuals or with their household. (Limit one entry per household.) The yellow Family Challenge cards can be found at the Kids & Teens and Adult Ask Us desks.

Participants should turn in their completed cards to the Kids & Teens Ask Us Desk to be entered into our weekly drawings. We will be giving away two IPPL throw blankets (pictured above) each week through Aug. 10!

Donor Tree

Our Donor Tree has been growing since the library moved to its current building in 1996. If you wish to have your name become a lasting part of the library, or are looking to honor a special occasion, memorialize a loved one, or recognize an organization or business, please consider purchasing one of these personalized, one-of-a-kind gifts. A leaf on the tree can be purchased for $250. Stones at the base of the tree can also be purchased - a small stone is $1,500, and a large stone is $5,000. For more information, call 630/887-8760 ext. 245.
