Share Your Favorite Book

In October, share a picture of yourself (or selfie) with your favorite book! Photos will be posted to the library's Flickr account and may be displayed throughout the library, as well as featured on our website and social media pages. Photos should be emailed to myfavbook@ippl.info along with your name, town, phone number, email address, and library card number. Only one photo per cardholder, please, as all participants will be entered into our October Junction drawing. Open to all ages.

If you would like library staff to take your photo, visit the Ask Us Desk on Tues., Oct. 7, 6-8 p.m. or Sat., Oct. 18, 10 a.m.-noon.
Paint the Town Pink

The Darien Chamber of Commerce Women in Business are hosting Paint the Town Pink during the month of October, encouraging all residents and businesses to decorate their home or business in pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

In addition, a silent auction for nine adirondack chairs designed by local artists was held at DarienFest, and all of the proceeds are being used to provide meals for Darien women going through breast cancer treatment. If you are currently going through breast cancer treatment or know of anyone who could benefit from this service, please call the Darien Chamber of Commerce at (630) 968-0004.
