Valentine's Day Idea
If you are looking for a new way to show those special people in your life how much they mean to you this Valentine's Day, consider putting their name in our lovely Reading Garden by purchasing a brick.  The bricks are unique, one-of-a-kind gifts that are a perfect way to honor someone in your life on a special occasion and are also a perfect gift for the person who has everything.  You will also be supporting the Indian Prairie Public Library Foundation with your purchase!
Friends Book Sale
Mark your calendar for Saturday, February 8, 9am - 3pm, and Sunday, February 9, 1pm - 3pm. ($2 bag sale).  We've got it all--histories to mysteries, philosophy to theology.  We welcome your donations of current books, CDs, and DVDs if they are in good condition.
10th Annual Big Read Information

This year's Big Read selection The Longest Road: Overland in Search of America, from Key West to the Arctic Ocean by Chicago native Philip Caputo is his record of an epic 16,000 mile journey to discover "what unites and divides a country as endlessly diverse as it is large."  The Program Guide is now available.

We are celebrating our 25th Birthday.  Here are some Toys and Games that were popular when we were born!
The most popular video game in 1988 was Super Mario Bros 3 (NES), which sold over 17M copies worldwide and remains one of the highest-rated games ever. Still popular today, check out the catalog for some current Super Mario Bros titles!

1988 was a big year for Barbie, with Happy Holidays Barbie, Korean Barbie, and Canadian Barbie. 1988 was also the first appearance of Midge. The library has a fantastic collection of books and DVDs.  Why not check some out today?

Zelda II: Adventure of Link was released in Dec 1988, introducing Dark Link. It is still considered one of the hardest Zelda or 8-bit games. Here are some Zelda books and console games for your enjoyment.
