 Adult Literacy Tutor Opportunity
Help change someone's future. Become an adult literacy tutor today. Literacy DuPage is a nonprofit, community-based organization that provides accessible and customized tutoring for adults. These tutor training sessions will prepare you to tutor other adults so that they can read, write, speak, and understand English. Please plan to attend all 6 sessions: February 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, and March 3 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Indian Prairie Library.  There is a $25 fee to help cover the cost of materials.  For more information, refer to Literacy DuPage

We are celebrating our 25th Birthday.  Here is what was happening on TV and in the Movies when we were born!  
The Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series went to Thirtysomething in 1988.    
Bea Arthur wins the 1988 Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role of Dorothy in The Golden Girls. The library owns all 7 seasons of Golden Girls!  
At the 60th Annual Academy Awards in 1988, The Last Emperor won 9 awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Film Editing, Best Original Score, Best Sound, & Best Adapted Screenplay.
