Little U Fall Session
What happened to storytimes?  We've given them a new name to reflect the focus on early literacy in these classes. Read more about how Little U storytime classes can help your child learn to read.  Registration starts Sept. 23.
Learn about e-books & e-magazines
We'll be in the lobby to answer your questions about e-books and e-magazines on Thurs., Sept. 19 from 2 to 4 p.m.
What were you doing in 1988?
We'll be celebrating 25 years as the Indian Prairie Public Library District during the next year.  Watch for special events starting with the family activity, Global Cardboard Challenge, on Sat., Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the afternoon music concert Come to the Cabaret on Sun., Nov. 10 at 2 p.m.
ARRRRR! Shiver Me Timbers!
Just in time for International Talk Like a Pirate Day on September 19, we're reminding you about Mango Languages.  Pirate is one of the languages featured on this site, along with  new language courses in Armenian, Azerbaijani, Bengali, Hungarian, Kazakh, Malay, Malayalam, Punjabi, Scottish Gaelic, Serbian, Telugu, and Yiddish.  Find the new mobile app for Mango Languages at your app store (but first, create an account on our website).
Here's a chance to help
AARP TaxAide needs volunteers for the 2014 tax season. You don't have to be an AARP member or have an accounting or tax background to help provide tax service to seniors and low income people.  To volunteer, visit their website or call 1-800-227-7669.
Books groups back in the groove
Need help finding a title for your group?  Stop in and talk to one of our staffers for help, pick up a copy of the brochure we developed, or check out the sources on our website.
Better yet, have your meeting at IPPL and one of librarians will drop in to talk about books.  Call us! 630/887-8760 ext. 239 or email [email protected].
