Join The Expedition!
| |
We kicked off the annual Fall Fund Drive at our Back to School night and donations are beginning to come in. We are asking families to Join the Expedition by committing to do the following four things this year:
Contribute to the Fall Fund Drive
Volunteer in your child's classroom or on field work
Volunteer for C3/Electives
Donate or solicit a donation for the Spring Auction.
All Families who make a contribution to the Fall Fund Drive will be entered into a drawing for an Alaska Airline or Downtown Boise gift card. Winner's Choice! The drawing will be held December 17th at Whole School Community. More details about Joining the Expedition to come in future Flight Plans. Periodically we will be sharing quotes from our families about why they have chosen to Join the Expedition. This week Gregg Burington and Alice Antonioli share their thoughts on donating to the Fall Fund Drive.
"Gregg and I support the fall fund drive because we feel that it is our responsibility to help make up the gap between the funding Anser receives to educate our kids, and the thousands of dollars more our neighborhood school receives for each of their students. We value our daughters' educations much more than the things we might otherwise spend that money on, so by writing that check we feel good that we are "putting our money where our mouths are". We also see how hard our Anser teachers, administrators and staff work to stretch every dollar given, so there is no wondering whether our donation will be appreciated and put to good use." Alice Antonioli
Thank you to the following families who have donated to the Fall Fund Drive: Gregg Burington and Alice Antonioli, Breck and Julie Seineger, Kris and Tim Martin, Pam and Wade Howland and Katie and Dan Baker.

Note from Construction
| |
Note from Construction Managers to Anser Parents:
Work will be commencing on Monday September 29 for the construction of a New Sewer Line, a New Water Main, and Improvements to 42nd Street North of Adams Street for the new housing complex being built at 42nd and Adams. There will be work crews and Traffic Control Signage in place.
This road ( 42nd st North of Adams) will be closed to all traffic except Local Traffic. There may be short delays as one lane will be closed at a time. Construction will start on the East side of the Road and when that section is completed it will move to the West side of the road.
PLEASE be respectful of work crews. Please obey posted speed limits and pay particular attention to crews working in the road. Safety is of paramount importance. We expect this work to be wrapping up around November 10.
If any person affected by this road closure desires additional information they may call our offices for a written description of work to be performed.
Sincerely, Kelly Harmon, Project Manager for Village Builders LLC

Spare the Air- Turn off your Engines:
| | Parents, a friendly reminder to PLEASE turn off your engines when dropping off and picking up your children. Whether you are parked or in the drop off/pick-up line, if you are going to be stopped for more than 10 seconds, TURN OFF YOUR ENGINE. Idling your vehicle for more than 10 seconds uses more fuel than restarting the engine- save money, reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and improve the air quality around our school by turning your engine off. As we approach winter and the associated inversions, we hope you will support this anti-idling effort at Anser and commit to improving the air that our children breathe.
