| New CBC and Electives Program: | | |
A synopsis of the plan for CBC and Electives will be sent out today. Please take some time over the break to review it. Suzanne and Heather D. will be holding office hour after spring break to accept feedback and ideas on the plan and would like to hear from you. Thank you to the many parents, Family Council, Board and staff members who sat on this committee to develop what we hope will be a sustainable plan for our CBC program. |
 | CBC: | | |
The new CBC session begins on Wednesday, April 3rd. Be on the lookout for emails from module coordinators looking for drivers. The lists are posted on the bulletin board outside the front office.
CBC Still needs a module coordinator for the Boise Urban Garden School module for 1-3 grade students. If you are interested in module coordinating we would appreciate it.

 | Top Ten Reasons to Donate to the Anser Auction: | |
10. Donations are the lifeblood of the Anser Auction. Without donations the auction would just be a community dinner and it's hard to raise money on fried rice balls alone.
9. We're not asking that your kids go around the neighborhood selling magazine subscriptions or candy bars. We just ask that you donate two (new) items to the Anser Auction.
8. Donating to the Anser Auction makes you feel like you're 18 again!
7. There is nothing quite like crossing your Anser Auction donations off your to-do list.
6. Here is the perfect opportunity for you to show off just how utterly cool and talented you really are!
5. You're a part of a community that gives so much to your children and now its time to give back through your donations and attendance to the Anser Auction.
4. Emily Barnett has nothing to do without your donations. She's patiently awaiting inputing all these great items. We really should give her something to do.

 | A Message from Family Council: | |
It's surprising to say that the end of the school year is quickly approaching and we will be saying goodbye and thank you to many current Family Council Members. What that also entails is the Family Council Election for our new crew to come forward. I would encourage you or your spouse to consider serving on either the Family Council or the Board, as it is a wonderful opportunity to be behind the scenes, be a part of the shaping of the school climate, and make a positive mark in our school community.
What exactly is Family Council?
Family Council is a group of approximately 14 parents, our co-Directors Suzanne Gregg & Heather Dennis, and two teachers. We have several different committees that we serve on (class room coordinator's director, CBC committee participant, School Safety & Transportation, Library committee, Board Liaison) and then we also work together to tackle the following topics:
New Parent Orientation
Back to School Picnic
Harvest Celebration
School T-Shirt
Chili Social
School Climate and Anser Family Community
Fundraising and Funds Allocation, ie new curriculum, class room supplies
What are the commitments?
2 year term (with option for 3)
10 monthly meetings/yr (typically the 1st Wed of the month from 7-9pm)
Assistance with School Functions including set-up and take-down
So you can see, being a Family Council member is really fun and not that time consuming. It is a great way to have one-on-one time with the administration and your children's teachers, and to lend your voice in Anser's ever-improving vision.
Please consider "running," which simply means letting current FC President, James Cryer, know that you're interested! We would love to hear YOUR voice.
Erin McCarter
Family Council Memeber

Load Our Library!! | |
Yeah our graphic novels project from donorschoose.org was fulfilled. We received enough money to fund it due to amazing, caring donors. Over 40 graphic novels have arrived. We plan to get them on the shelves and ready to check out over Spring Break. Thank you so much for all who contributed to this wonderful project.

| | ANSER SPIRITWEAR IS HERE! | | |
As many of you have likely noticed, the forms have come home for a second round of ordering Anser Spiritwear. Both hooded and zip-up sweatshirts have been added, as well as a car magnet, for those not wanting a bumper sticker. More order forms are available at the shirt display rack, near the front office. FYI, the ladies cut t-shirt has shrunk a little with washing, so order accordingly. The deadline to order has been extended to give people more of an opportunity to participate. Orders will be accepted through the entire week after we return from Spring Break.
Let us see your school spirit!
