Drop off and Pick up Reminders:

So far the changes to the drop off and pick up procedures are allowing traffic to move much more quickly in the pick up line and are keeping our students safe on the playground while they are waiting to be picked up. Just a couple of reminders:

  1.   If your child is going to enter the school at the front entrance you need to park and walk them in. If they are tardy you need to sign them in.
  2.   No child may be picked up  from or dropped off in the front parking lot. If you are parked in the front lot you need to walk to the playground to pick up your child or come into the building and pick up your child.

Kudos to the many, many families who have helped us to implement these new procedures. We appreciate your support in keeping all of Anser's students safe from traffic accidents!

FUNDING OUR FUTURE
FUNDRAISING GALA & AUCTION
APRIL 26TH, 2013
THE RIVERSIDE HOTEL

This year we are excited to introduce both an online auction and our annual spring auction event. Anser Charter School will be using Auction Frogs, an online fundraising company.

This year we will have three components to our spring fundraiser.
1. Online Auction

2. Silent Auction
3. Live Auction

Please register online at  ansercharterschool.afrogs.org

Help us continue this tradition of expeditionary learning, innovation and exploration in childhood education.

Look in your child's backpack for a flyer regarding this year's spring auction.

Anser ECS Crew is seeking help:

Years ago, there was a drive for phonebooks to put in the Tech Lab for our youngers, as there are only big chairs in there for them to sit at, and this group of little ones need to be able to plant their feet while working.  We asked for the large phonebooks to duct tape together as footstools for that room, and over the last couple of years with the growth they have been misplaced or lost.  We need to replace this vital tool for our media room, so the drive for phonebooks is back on!

It takes 2-3 phone books to make one footstool if we use the 2-3 inch thick variety.  If you have any of these lying around your home and want to give them to a good cause, or would like to donate regular footstools for our young generation of learners,  please send them to ANSER for the ECS crew!

We are also in need of some rocker boards for our classroom toolboxes! These are a necessity to our learning environment in our classrooms.  They are so easy to make, and the kids love the ones that are made out of old skateboard decks.  If you or someone you know would be willing to donate these hot ticket items to our classrooms, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Snowflakes for School:
We are down to the last few weeks of snowflakes. We will be adding additional items through the end of January. Many of the teachers have been adding their wishlists to the hanging snowflakes. If you want a sneak peek at some of the items the snow has brought in check inside the front office. We have basketballs, soccer balls, ball pumps, sand has been delivered and more. Our parents are so awesome!
Some of you may have noticed the blue and white snowflakes hanging from the tree's near the front office. The snowflakes have tags with wish list items for teachers and the playground. Some of the tags may have items like basketballs, sand and flag football organizers.

If you want to help it's easy just follow-these steps:
1. Grab a tag off the snowflake with the wish item
2. Purchase the item
3. Drop it off in the front office
4. Make the school HAPPY!

This is a project brought to you by Anser Student Council

Registration for 9th Grade:

It is that time of year, where with excitement and  sadness too  we prepare our 8th graders for their flight from Anser. February is registration month at local junior high schools and 8th grade parents should contact the school their child will attend to start the registration process. We suggest that you call the counselor of the school your child will attend in January to see when registration for incoming 9th graders occur. Due to a very large class of students planning to attend Hillside next year, Hillside has requested that they come to Anser to register our students all at once. That registration will occur at 7:50am on Tuesday February 19th at Anser. This means Hillside bound students will need to get to school a little bit early that day. Parents are welcome to attend.
