 | Drop off and Pick up Reminders:
| | |
So far the changes to the drop off and pick up procedures are allowing traffic to move much more quickly in the pick up line and are keeping our students safe on the playground while they are waiting to be picked up. Just a couple of reminders:
- If your child is going to enter the school at the front entrance you need to park and walk them in. If they are tardy you need to sign them in.
- No child may be picked up from or dropped off in the front parking lot. If you are parked in the front lot you need to walk to the playground to pick up your child or come into the building and pick up your child.
Kudos to the many, many families who have helped us to implement these new procedures. We appreciate your support in keeping all of Anser's students safe from traffic accidents!

 | Registration for 9th Grade:
| | |
It is that time of year, where with excitement and sadness too we prepare our 8th graders for their flight from Anser. February is registration month at local junior high schools and 8th grade parents should contact the school their child will attend to start the registration process. We suggest that you call the counselor of the school your child will attend in January to see when registration for incoming 9th graders occur. Due to a very large class of students planning to attend Hillside next year, Hillside has requested that they come to Anser to register our students all at once. That registration will occur at 7:50am on Tuesday February 19th at Anser. This means Hillside bound students will need to get to school a little bit early that day. Parents are welcome to attend.

 | Re-commitment Forms are due:
| | |
Re-commitment forms were mailed out this week and are due back by February 5th. If you did not receive your re-commitment letter in the mail please stop by the front office and pick one up. Also, please make sure that if you have a kindergarten sibling or sibling that you are enrolling in the 2013-2014 lottery that you fill out an enrollment application in addition to the re-commitment form. You can find an enrollment application by clicking the link below. Please note that this only needs to be done for "new students," those students who are returning need only fill out the recommitment form.

 | CBC Collaboration and Competition Forms:
| | |
CBC Collaboration and Competition Forms are going home with students today on green paper and are due back by 8:30 am on Wednesday the 23rd of January. THIS IS A FEE BASED SESSION, all classes are $40. If your child has registered to participate in snow sports at Bogus, you will not need to turn in this form because it is for the same session as snow sports at Bogus.
CBC still needs module coordinators for the Collaboration and Competition Session in the following modules: Bowling, Gymnastics B, Karate, Yo-Yo, YMCA A and YMCA B. If you would like your child to receive preference and you are available to coordinate this 5 week session, please email Heather Banuelos or go on to the Anser website under forms and fill out the Module Coordinator Recruitment form. | Join UC Students in the MLK March: | | |
If you are in town and would like to participate, we hope you'll join members of our UC Crew as we march to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King Jr. and the fight for civil rights in America. BSU has organized many other activities of interest, and your family might also want to participate in one or more of these.
We will meet in the Student Union Hatch Ballroom, starting at 9:00 a.m. Please be there by 10:30 if you plan to march, since we want to go in a group! I don't want to leave any of our crew behind. After the march down Capitol Blvd., there are speakers and other events in the capitol building. This optional event is a great way to celebrate the meaning of this holiday.

 | Snowflakes for School:
| | We are down to the last few weeks of snowflakes. We will be adding additional items through the end of January. Many of the teachers have been adding their wishlists to the hanging snowflakes. If you want a sneak peek at some of the items the snow has brought in check inside the front office. We have basketballs, soccer balls, ball pumps, sand has been delivered and more. Our parents are so awesome! Some of you may have noticed the blue and white snowflakes hanging from the tree's near the front office. The snowflakes have tags with wish list items for teachers and the playground. Some of the tags may have items like basketballs, sand and flag football organizers.
If you want to help it's easy just follow-these steps: 1. Grab a tag off the snowflake with the wish item 2. Purchase the item 3. Drop it off in the front office 4. Make the school HAPPY!
This is a project brought to you by Anser Student Council
