Dear Parents,
We had a busy week at BASIS Chandler. The Upper School had an awards assembly where 173 students received awards for Most Improved Honor Roll, Honor Roll, Distinguished Honor Roll, and Commended Scholar. The registration lottery was held for the 2013-2014 school year, and 90 new 5th graders were notified of their acceptance at our school.
This morning brought Latin classes looking for "clues" written in Latin, from Mr. Ivanyi; and NJHS members could be found cleaning our classrooms and earning service hours. Varsity basketball played in the State Tournament where they battled to the end; and parents and students were treated to a night of information from Mr. Bowley our College Counselor.
We also sent out over 450 thank you letters to parents who donated to the Annual Teacher Fund. We had 95% participation and you generously donated $219,000. We still need $86,000 that will not only help us hire new teachers but also reward top-performing teachers who inspire students to learn.
Happy Friday and enjoy the weekend with your kids!
