On Your Mark, Get Set...

READ

Readers of all ages are invited to explore all things sports and fitness this summer as Cranberry Public Library presents "On Your Mark, Get Set, Read" as their summer library program for 2016. Activities will include book cart races, movie nights, life size game playing, chocolate Olympics, storytimes (of course!), and much, much, more!

CPL's summer reading program is open to all ages, birth-super seniors, for a chance to attend programs, win prizes, READ, and have fun. 

Our Summer Reading Kick-off Celebration on Saturday, June 4th from 11am-1pm, will include sign-up for the reading program, crafts, and games. All ages are welcome; no registration is required. And, after the fun inside the library, join us for lunch outside as we host a Food Truck Round-up from 11am-3pm,with proceeds to benefit the library.

MAY 2016

First Editions Book Club
Monday, May 2 @ 7PM
Join us for a discussion of A Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. Copies of the title are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk.

Tween Art Club
Tuesday, May 3 from 4-5PM
Kids in grades 4-6. Join Ms. Rachael on the first Tuesday of the month for an art project. Online registration required.

TAB Meeting
Monday, May 9
The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) plays an important role in the Cranberry Library by helping to plan events and by giving input on new books, DVDs, and music for the teen collection.

Homeschool Crafternoon
Thursday, May 12 from 1-2PM
Join Ms. Rachael to make a craft and hang out with other homeschoolers! For children ages 6-11. Register online.

Block Party
Thursday, May 12 @ 6:30PM
For birth-preschoolers. Drop in to play with toys bought with our Family Place Grant for an hour of free play and family 
and friend bonding time! 

Maker Monday
Monday, May 16 from 4-5PM
For grades 7th-12th, this is a NEW program to CPL. We'll be working towards creating a monthly library magazine by teens and for teens and also have other projects and art supplies available. Stop in and make something!

Tween Lego Club
Tuesday, May 17 from 4-5PM
Come and hang out with other Lego enthusiasts for an hour of laid back building. Tweens in grades 4-6 should register to attend.

Meet the Author: Annette Dashofy
Tuesday, May 17 @ 6PM 
Local author of Circle of Influence, Lost Legacy, Bridges Burned,  and her newest title, With a Vengeance. Ms. Dashofy will speak and sign copies of her books. Copies will be available for purchase; cash or check only, please.

Books and Bagels Book Club
Wednesday, May 18 from 10AM-Noon
Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier is May's selected title.

Budding Builders
Thursday, May 19 from 4-5PM
For 1st-3rd graders. Meet on the third Thursday of each month with Ms. Rachael for an hour of free building with other Lego enthusiasts. Register online.

Food Truck Round-Up
Saturday, June 4 from 11AM - 3PM
Join us for lunch! Support Cranberry Public Library! Several local food trucks will be on hand in the front parking lot of the Cranberry Municipal Building with their amazingly yummy offerings. A portion of proceeds from the food truck sales will benefit CPL!

First Editions Book Club

A copy of the book, And Then There Were None, by Agatha Christie, can be obtained at the library's Circulation Desk.

Firefly Watch
Tuesday, June 7 @ 6:00PM
Ryan, our friend from the Succop Nature Park is back to teach us all about Pennsylvania's state insect, the firefly! All ages are welcome to attend. Please register.

Books and Bagels Book Club

Hotdog! It's Friday!
Fridays, June 17 & 24 and July 1, 15, 22, & 29 and August 5 & 12
Join The Friends of Cranberry Public Library in the Mazzoni Reading Garden on Fridays. $3 gets ya a  
hotdog, chips, and a bottled water. If it rains, we take it inside. Family 4-packs are available for $10. Bring lawn chairs and a blanket and make it a picnic. Proceeds benefit Cranberry Public Library.

Fourth Thursday Book Club

All are welcome to pick up a copy of June's book at the Circulation Desk, read it, and then join in on this lively discussion of the work.

Summer Reading Kickoff

All ages are welcome to stop in for games, activities, crafts, and to register for our annual summer reading program. After the fun inside, stop out in the front parking lot and join us for a Food Truck Round-Up; a portion of the day's sales will benefit CPL.

Once again we've teamed up with the Steel City LUG. Stop by the library's tent at Community Days and help us build!

Read-a-Thon

Read, get volunteer hours, and help raise money for the CTCC Project of the Year! Grades 4-12. Register online.

Life Size Games

AncestryLibrary.com is available online in the library only and has access to hundreds of online death, birth, military, marriage, and census records. Simply visit the library and logon to one of our public access PCs with your library card and you're ready to explore.

In addition, we are also able to offer HeritageQuest Online, which is available from your home PC with a Cranberry Public Library card. A good starting point, HeritageQuest allows for city directory, census searching, and more.
