A Note from Kelli
The last few weeks have been a whirlwind for me. I celebrated turning 50 with the completion of my insider's story about what happened during the dark days at apple and outlining the very uncommon "best practices" that came out of that time - making Apple the spectacular success and global leader that it is today. Last Monday was the culmination of both of those celebrations - ending my 50th birthday weekend with friends from all corners of the country with an intimate, glowing reception to celebrate the bestseller campaign for "The Magic and Moxie of Apple." Those of us at the soiree at the Capital Club included a handful of amazing fellow Apple alums, as well as some of my present-day clients (like Eventfinda - more about them below), colleagues, and friends.
Spending many years as an ambassador between music and technology has created many decades-long friendships, and one of those amazing musicians that I've been blessed to call my friend is Freddy Clarke (leader of Wobbly World). Freddy shared his mind-blowing Flaminco guitar with us, along with his most recent hit, "iPhone Therefore I am." You can see more of Freddy and wobbly World here.

Steve Jobs saw a finish line for his products that went far beyond the bottom line. As a reward for that, he reaped a bottom line that is still gaining market share and momentum. He looked beyond the stockholders and the money and built the best stuff out there by the best teams. He then backed it up with a brand that embraced the consumer from beginning to end. It's hard to say that his prize was even the products. Most of all it is the products in the hands of an army of grateful consumers who have become brand advocates. Let's face it there are some great products out there in the world that have not had anything near the global impact of those built by Apple....

With the controversy around clouds and lockers, especially in music, it is the trusted brand of Apple that will bring clouds away from the status of rebel and into the accepted mainstream, carving out legitimacy for a niche in digital that is long overdue. Perhaps music will finally stop bleeding revenue? But we have a problem. The guy that inspired this boundless thinking, creativity and risk taking, who fearlessly demanded greatness from everyone around him... simply isn't here any more. We've SEEN Apple without Steve Jobs; I was there to see it first hand. Will a great thinker step in and continue Apple's impact (and legacy)? It is possible. Will another Steve Jobs come along in our lifetime? Unlikely."
