Legacy and Celebrity Wrangling
One of the most important aspects of my career has been creating high impact collaborations between artists, celebrities and corporations, and sometimes between artists and charities. I call this celebrity wrangling. There's no shortage of passion in the world surrounding celebrities and musicians; in fact, it's rare to find one that doesn't crave the opportunity to create lasting change and global/societal impact. Connecting the right artist for the right purpose - or simply being part of event production as a talent producer for award shows & charity events involving great artist/celeb talent, well, those are definitely career high points. Whether for corporations who want to have a celebrity appear in an ad campaign or established artists perform at employee events or at corporate industry conferences & special events. I've had the chance to work on some pretty amazing projects over the years, including great global causes with a broad range of artists, celebrities, and big companies. To learn more about celebrity wrangling, please visit my website.
One of my favorite charity event projects was the "Open Hearts - Clear Mines: Adopt-a-Minefield" benefit concert hosted by the United Nations featuring performances by Sir Paul McCartney and Brian Wilson, where they joined together and sang, "God Only Knows" & "Let it Be". Read More...

Industry Interviews
Fireside Chat - Excerpts with Industry Leaders to Build Fan Tribes and Conquer Social Media
My new eBook, "Taking the Crowd to the Cloud - Social Media for the Music Industry" is out! Let's face it, the music industry has turned into a very complicated space, and marketing was NEVER easy to begin with. Taking the Crowd to the Cloud raises the bar and demystifies social media marketing, helping musicians, agents and anyone in our industry to THRIVE - it empowers and transforms the marketing mindset. In order to support the music industry (and everyone) to better understand tribe building and social media, this month's Fireside Chat Q&A is a collection of excerpts from industry leaders and their BEST input on this subject.
Kelli to Terry McBride, CEO Nettwerk Music Group: Terry, talk to us if you would about a topic that's very near to my heart -- fan "tribes" - of all the resources at the disposal of artists, managers and recording companies today, what do you think are the two or three most important ingredients to building those tribes?
Terry McBride: Probably the most engaging is direct email. If you look at open rates or any of the analytics around that, if used properly and respectfully, if you send an email to fans and you're giving value and sharing value, when it's timely and engaging and you're not overdoing it, that's probably the most effective way. After that I would say that it's social media, whether it's Tweets or Twitter feeds to Facebook, that's also very effective, but that's second after email. Click here to hear the entire interview...
___________________________________________________
Kelli to Jason Benlevi, Author of Too Much Magic: Let's talk about social media for a few minutes. Bluntly speaking, Jason, do you feel social media has any true value?
Jason Benlevi: I'm quite a lover of social media. I'm not quite a lover of the business models. I would prefer to see a model that is not busy looking at our personal information figuring out what to sell us. I would rather that we pay a small amount of money, or that it's part of our ISP fee. Just like we have email or web browsers that there's not one company in charge of it, that's kind of the gate keeper and busy mining our data. I'd rather see a more open model. Click here to hear the entire interview...
"Taking the Crowd to the Cloud - Social Media for the Music Industry" features TEN top social networks for musicians, including eMail marketing - this eBook maximizes your social media to build (and keep) your audience.
