As we know from the story of Abraham, one person's obedience to God's call can have far-reaching effects that bring God great glory. This is the story of the the Centurions, the Military Christian Fellowship of Mongolia.
More than twenty years ago, an ACCTS staff member felt God's call to go to Mongolia. He traveled to Ulaanbaatar and spent several weeks trying to find at least one Christian serving in the Mongolian military. On the day before he was to fly out, a man approached him and asked, "Are you the American who wants to meet Christians in the Mongolian military?" The man introduced him to not one, but two cadets from the Mongolian Military Academy who wanted to learn how to reach other cadets for Christ.
After a brief time of discipleship with the cadets, the ACCTS' staff member left the next day; (there was only one flight a week), but God had a bigger plan - one that involved the CRU "Jesus Film," a retired General from Korea, a missionary from Japan, and others. In the course of God's perfect timing, the "Jesus Film" was seen by all Mongolian Border Guard units, Senior Mongolian military officers were discipled by senior officers from the Military Christian Fellowship (MCF) of Korea, Mongolian Military Academy Cadets became involved in Bible studies, and in the Spring of 2012, the Centurions (the MCF of Mongolia) celebrated 15 years of ministry to their military. One man's obedience to God's call was used to help bring thousands of Mongolian military members to Christ.
Today, ACCTS' growing China ministry includes Mongolia, and staff members travel there each year to mentor and encourage the Centurions, often in collaboration with other international military ministries. At the military academy, the Future Leaders Club now trains cadets in leadership skills, and one of the leaders they study is Jesus! Over 60% of the Mongolian population have seen the "Jesus Film," and new congregations of Christians continue to spring up across the country, many with more than 1,000 members. Spirit-lead Partners in the Gospel always bring glory to God!
