Greetings!

What does September mean to me? September means a fresh start.

Just like we were back in school, everyone starts with a clean slate. Our brisk season of Autumn is a welcomed month to put away any baggage that has been dragging you down.  We all have the potential to be at our best in the fall.

America's favorite game of football begins in September. I can't think of anything better than watching the game with family and friends while enjoying a big bowl of chili and other tail gate foods.

September is smelling the fallen leaves and raking them into a big pile to jump into with the kids.

September is time to take a road trip up north to go apple picking with friends (which means cider donuts).

It's all time to show your hair a little love. Whether it's a new haircut or toning down your sun bleached ends, a visit to the salon is just what your hair(and skin) needs after a long hot summer!

Brunettes are hotter than ever this season

Fiery brown hair is something Hollywood has loved throughout the ages. Katherine Hepburn, Leslie Caron, Sophia Loren, and Natalie Wood have all been brunettes. These days, dazzling and talented actors like Sofia Vergara, pictured here from the hit TV comedy Modern Family

Katie Holmes , Angelina Joile and young Megan Fox of Transformer's fame are among those who make us covet the rich color.

But from sultry espresso to chocolate brown, cinnamon to mahogany, there are so many ravishing brunette shades available that it's difficult to know which is right for you. Jim Bowen, Master Colorist at Artisan Salon tells us the good news is that anyone can wear some shade of brown. The trick is to stay with two shades of your natural color.  Once you've learned which works best for you, adjust your makeup - especially your lipstick -accordingly. And stick with warmer tones to lend a healthy glow to processed locks. "Avoid an ashy brunette. It can look inky, flat and dull." says Bowen. "People can wear those hues, and they can be very flattering; however, they will never look natural. All browns that are natural for people have warmer tones. As much as we love the look of Meghan Fox's vivid indigo-ebony shade, it is hard for most women to pull off. "The common mistake is to go too dark" Bowen says. "While it can look sexy on a young girl like Megan Fox, it can also be severe and harsh." If you are warming up for a new color this season, Jim and Morgan would be happy to consult with you anytime. Became a brand new day
Two lovers playing scenes
From some romantic play
September morning
Still can make me feel that way"

Truth or Fiction?
If You Pluck a Gray Hair, Two More Will Grow Back in Its Place

Gray hair can proliferate quickly, so it's natural that once you see one gray hair, you start noticing them all over your head, as if they've multiplied overnight. But follicles produce one strand of hair, no more, no less. Plucking a gray hair won't cause more to grow. Actually, plucking can cause you to lose hair, since yanking can damage the follicle or destroy it completely. It's okay to tweeze the occasional stray gray, but if your hair is already thin or thinning, getting it colored might be your best bet.
