"Sun is shining. Weather is sweet. Make you wanna move your dancing feet."- Bob Marley

Greetings!
Summer brings all sorts of excitement for us on Cape Cod. Summer theater and craft shows are everywhere. Ball games and picnics fill our days. Boat rides and sunning on the beach become the norm. Friends and family camp out on our door steps and the fun begins! Whew! As we try to squeeze in everything in these short couple of months Jim and Morgan want you to take a breather and visit our boutique salon for a little R & R, too. Perhaps it's a pedicure for your tootsies or a few foils to lighten your fringe. Maybe you are ready for a summer crop? We are here to massage your stress away and get you focused again on yourself. So, take a breather and call us at 508-540-9432 to schedule a little bliss today!

Summer fun for the whole family
If you want to know what's going on in town, the local hair salon is the best place to go. This summer is no exception. Morgan and Jim recently took a big step in their support of the arts by sponsoring the College Light Opera Company through a full subscription, advertising and discounts for the cast. Be sure to check out this amazing group of young thespians who are bound for Broadway! Here is the link.

Another fun event for the whole family are the weekly Falmouth Town Band concerts. They are held at the Oscar Wolfe Band Shell at Falmouth Marina on Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm. Artisan Salon's Jim Bowen will be the emcee on July 4, July 18, August 8 and August 22nd. Please stop by to say hello!  Be sure to bring your lawn chairs, a picnic and an extra sweater for those chilly summer nights.

One of her custom cartoon portraits is on view near the stage at Liam Maguire's Irish Pub, and her mixed-media panels are installed at the Falmouth Public Library.

She was proud to have been part of a team of artists who created the public mosaic murals on the Shining Sea Bikeway and at the Falmouth Dog Park through Jim's mosaic school,
Cape Cod Mosaic Workshops.

With her husband photographer Ben Allsup, she recently opened a new studio space at the Cataumet Arts Center where she has been focusing on oil painting and welcomes visits from the public.

Summer Skin Care Tips

Recent information from the UCLA skin research department indicates that 78% of all the sun damage incurred in a lifetime is from incidental exposure! You may say "I'm not out at all during the day" but just walking to your car, and even driving in your car will expose you to unnecessary sun damage. Windshields do nothing to protect you from UV rays! To protect your hair color, use Aveda's Sun Veil with UVA/UVB filters derived from wintergreen and cinnamon bark oils help protect hair from sun damage. For your delicate face, wear a moisturizer that contains a sun block with a minimum of SPF #15. Apply it in the morning so you'll be covered all day! Try
Ward off mosquitos with this clever trick
If you're planning a trip to a mosquito-y place-or you always seem to attract the little buggers-start taking a daily vitamin B12 supplement, suggests Vivian W. Bucay, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist in San Antonio. "Studies show that it causes your skin to give off a scent that repels mosquitoes," she says. (And no, humans can't smell it.)
