GHHN's Awards for Excellence Program

2014 Awards for Excellence Winners

THE PORTAL IS NOW OPEN!
Greater Hudson Heritage Network's Awards For Excellence program seeks to recognize and commend exceptional efforts among GHHN members. Awards are made to projects that exemplify creativity and professional vision resulting in a contribution to the preservation and interpretation of the historic scene, material culture and diversity of the region.  Awards will be presented at Greater Hudson's 2015 Annual Conference on October 16, 2015 at Purchase College, SUNY.

Awards may be made to organizations or individuals in any or all of the following areas:
 public programs (including education, exhibition, interpretation)
 publications
 historic preservation
 community documentation and collaboration
 new technology (e.g. website development, blogs, audio tours, video interpretation)
 Board Vision
 advancement of regional history

Nominations reflecting work in 20th century documentation, or
re-interpretation of collections are strongly encouraged; nominations of collaborative or regionally focused projects are especially welcome.

Any GHHN member organization or individual can be nominated for projects completed in the last 19 months prior to October 2015. (projects conducted from March 2014 through October 2015). Projects not yet completed must have reached a point sufficient to permit judgment of merit. You are encouraged to nominate your own organization.

This year, we are trying something new!
All submissions will be made online.
The portal for submissions will open on August 1 and will remain open until the deadline on August 31. There are fields to fill out on our website and a place for you to upload your one page narrative, as well as secondary support materials. The nomination form needs to be filled out on the website - the attachments should be prepared ahead of time and then simply uploaded in the appropriate field.  If you are nominating a publication, you will need to both fill out the online form and send six copies of the publication to the GHHN Offices by the deadline of August 31. To learn more and to submit a nomination, please visit:

We know this is a big change - if you have any questions about the new nomination procedure, please give us a call at 914.582.3353 or email [email protected]

Good Luck!
