Fleet & Facilities Update

The DSC and Tide Water Yacht Services are working to get our fleet ready for April 1st. Tide Water will have the first two Stuart and Jared with Awning Sides boats completed by tomorrow.

Stuart and Jared have set-up our winter work area on site. They have put the sides up on our utility tent which will make working through the cold winter months much more manageable.

Stuart and Jared have also hauled out Mary Anna and have been working to remove the growth and prepare for bottom paint.

The cruisers are continuing with their boat maintenance on Friday. They are hauling out Sprite and having it short-hauled at Tide Water.  Huge thanks to the hard working cruising volunteers.

Prep for this Weekend's Work Party

Jared and Stuart are working to develop tasks for the work party this weekend. Some task roles will include taking Joker to Tide Water, compounding Mary Anna, installing tillers and rudders.

Register here to help out.

Thanks to all our volunteers!

Attention DSC Cruisers!

If you're interested in learning more about the 2013 Sailstice Round DelMarVa Rally (June 14 - 22), you'll want to be at Little Havana on Saturday, February 16, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Rally organizers, past participants, and 2013 participants will be gathering for a brief informational presentation, followed by a Q&A period and then time to mix and mingle and meet other participants. There will be handouts on the schedule, route, stops, and safety requirements. There will also be a cash bar, so come prepared! For more information visit www.delmarvarally.com.

"Look Dad, it's the Sailing Center!"
Adam Ackers

Our Fleet Coordinator and great friend/volunteer/member of the DSC, Jared Ackers, shared this photo with us last week.  Jared is frequently on site with his son, Adam, along for the day's adventure, whether that is boat maintenance, sailing, or simply hanging around with friends.

When Jared arrived to pick up his young son from school, Adam proudly presented his building project.  "Look, Dad, it's the Sailing Center!"  We enjoyed the photo so much and wanted to share with you too!

If you have favorite photos of the Downtown Sailing Center or while out sailing on one of our boats or at any DSC event, please send them to traci@downtownsailing.org.
