Message from Kathleen Lester
President, DSC Board of Directors

Happy New Year!

Dear DSC Community:

I am pleased to announce that the DSC Board of Directors and staff have worked diligently to develop our Strategic Plan and our Operating Budget for 2013. We conducted a thorough SWOT analysis, gathered as a group for several planning meetings with board members and staff, and have developed a solid and realistic Strategic Plan for 2013. The Board of Directors met on Monday, December 17th and unanimously approved both the Strategic Plan and 2013 Operating Budget.

Please join us at the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, January 19th at 5:00 PM in the Decker Gallery located inside the Baltimore Museum of Industry. We will be sharing the Strategic Plan and 2013 Budget summary as part of the Agenda for the event. It is our hope that you will attend so that you may be kept informed regarding the the direction and plans for the Downtown Sailing Center.

Directly following the presentation, we invite you to take part in our first 2013 DSC Member Social. Bring a dish to pass and enjoy the opportunity to visit with your sailing friends!

Winter Work Ahead!

Ahoy, friends!

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year that finds you in good health and in good company.

Believe it or not, work continues on with the fleet this winter. We have boats out of the water and we are working on making more significant upgrades and improvements to our fleet.

The first Winter Work Party of the year will commence next Saturday, January 12, at 9:00 AM. Click on the link, or visit our DSC Calendar for future dates as well and to see how you can help.  Register today to volunteer for one of the many tasks we have planned for the day and the following Winter Work Party dates if you are able to lend a hand.

Work will continue on Saturdays as long as the weather holds, and we will be continuing with fleet improvement into the spring.

Please plan on attending the Annual Meeting, which will be held on Saturday, January 19 at 5:00 PM, to learn more about our fleet objectives for 2013 and our plan for a safe, sustainable fleet.

We rely on volunteer action to help maintain our fleet and keep our grounds clean. Please register online today and do your part to help keep the DSC safe, fun, and beautiful!

Speaking of fun, Frostbiting continues through January and into February. Returning skippers and all crew are welcome to sign up and attend. Make sure to register online, and come experience exhilirating winter sailing and join in or the camaraderie the DSC offers.

I'll see you on the docks!

Potluck Image

Swing into the new year with your fellow sailing friends and attend the Potluck Social that will take place after the Annual General Meeting.

Only a couiple of months to go until we're out on the water sailing in sunny summer breezes, but in the meantime, bring a favorite dish to pass (we will have electric available for crock pots, etc.) and gather for lively conversation and meet new members of the Downtown Sailing Center.

Please Click Here to RSVP for the Annual General Meeting and Potluck Social.
