Dear DSC Community,

I am very pleased to announce that our search for a new Executive Director has concluded. Please join me in welcoming Mr. David Minges, Executive Director of the Downtown Sailing  Center. Most recently, Dave served as Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Maryland. Previously Dave has served as Executive Director of the Chesapeake Bay Trust and the Governor's Office on Volunteerism, as well as served in many leadership positions in public, private and government industries.

Dave has lived in Baltimore for over 30 years and has strong connections to our community. In addition to living in Baltimore, Dave has given back to our community in a variety of ways, serving on non-profit boards, local and state councils, and volunteering for many charities.

Dave is also a recreational sailor. He grew up sailing, scraping, and painting a wooden Snipe and Lightning, and now trailer sails a Mud Hen 17 sharpie catboat.
 
We are also underway with our strategic planning process and will have a strategic plan completed prior to the end of our fiscal year. Dave is already up to speed on our strategic planning and looks forward to becoming more directly involved. Dave understands the importance of the strategic plan guiding our organization and looks forward to it guiding our business into 2013.

Dave starts today, Monday, November 5, 2012. He will be at the Members Open Forum on Wednesday evening, Nov 7th (5:30 PM in the Liberty Room).  Please come and say hi to Dave and welcome him onboard!
