CCC Training Lab

The new name for the staff training room of the Spartanburg County Public Libraries was announced at the Open House on Halloween, October 31, 2013. The CCC Training Lab is the new official name. CCC refers to our library's mission statement- Create, Connect, and Change. Congratulations to Derrick Lawson from Development who submitted the winning entry. Derrick received a $20 Papa John's Pizza gift card. All the employees who submitted an entry received an ice cream treat.

Over forty employees dropped in to tour the new training area during the Open House. Rosie the Riveter, Aladdin, princesses, witches, and other goblins were among the costumed guests. The authentic costumes worn by Harry and Andrew from Circulation were most impressive. The question of the day," Is that Harry or is that Andrew?" All the costumes and chocolate made for a fun and wonderful atmosphere during the open house.

Halloween fun at the open house with Meghan Johnson, Cindi Sapp, and Katrina Austin!

The CCC Training lab is equipped with a new 80 inch flat screen, training computers, laptops, a RFID station, a cash register, and CPR/AED practice equipment. The staff was most impressed with the new flat screen that will be a vital tool utilized during New Employee Orientation sessions, webinars, and other training sessions. The lab is also equipped with an extensive digital device petting zoo that several people took the opportunity to visit during the open house.

New employees gather around the RFID equipment and new 80" flat screen TV while Christina Calitri teaches about Polaris.

The CCC Training Lab is located on the bottom level at HQ to the right as you descend the stairs or to the right as you exit the public elevators. We welcome you to stop by to visit.

We encourage you to periodically check the training calendar for upcoming training events, including revised digital device training classes.

The training staff would like to thank everyone who has been involved in making the staff training lab dream become a reality. We are looking forward to providing training and meeting your training needs.
