SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4th, 9am-4pm
All ages welcome!

1 in 6 Americans doesn't have adequate access to food. 1 out of every 5 children in the U.S. is at risk of hunger. For African-American and Latino children, it's 1 in 3.

Join us for a new day of service event this October: field gleaning! We will spend the day working on a farm outside of Omaha. After gleaning the fields, participants will help prepare the produce for delivery to local food pantries.

The practice of gleaning, collecting leftover crops from farmers' fields after they have been harvested, dates back to biblical times, but gleaning also has modern applications with increasing numbers of Americans having inadequate access to healthy foods.

The cost to participate is $15 which includes lunch, transportation to and from service sites, and commemorative t-shirt. Pre-registration is required, and the registration deadline is September 22nd. Groups should bring 1 adult for every 5 youth. You do not have to be United Methodist to participate in this event.
