Fair Trade Valentines Valentine's Day
Valentine's Open House

Join us Monday, February 11th, from 4 to 6pm for our Valentine's Open House. You will find lovely treasures sure to please your friends, family, and co-workers: Fair Trade scarves in heart-shaped gift boxes, jewelry, Love Buzz coffee, and several new flavors of chocolate (who doesn't love chocolate?)! We also have nifty boxes of Fair Trade chocolate Valentines from Equal Exchange which retail for $7.99. We will feature yummy samples of coffee, hot cocoa, Women's Bean Project soup, and goodies made with Equal Exchange baking cocoa (and love). All red and pink thrift items are 15% off all day long; wear something red to receive 15% off nativities, scarves, and gloves. We hope you will join us!

December Fair Trade Bonanza

Thanks to everyone who supported Fair Trade through gift purchases in December! We began our holiday sales season with a booth at the two-day Holiday Market at Aksarben village the first weekend of December. We had a great time, and once again Fair Trade proved to be very popular. We were also on the road to several alternative giving fairs at congregations, and hosted a number of successful Open Houses on location at the Blue. Thanks for your support, and remember - we are open six days a week with a terrific inventory of Fair Trade crafts, chocolate, coffee and more.

New Fair Trade In Stock felted

Thanks to the recommendations of friends we met at a Fair Trade retailers workshop sponsored by SERRV, we've added three new lines of Fair Trade to our stock. Each of our new brands of Fair Trade focuses on one specific geographic area for sourcing, so we've added stock from three different continents. We now carry wool and felted products from Nepal, courtesy of Ganesh Himal; ornaments and figurines made from kisii rock from Africa from our friends at Venture Imports; and jewelry crafted from sustainable sources, such as tagua nuts, from Minga.  These new companies complement our existing Fair Trade partners: SERRV, Ten Thousand Villages, Equal Exchange, and Global Girlfriend, giving our customers even more Fair Trade options!

Donations Needed

This month we have had requests for: used books in good condition; costume jewelry; knick-knacks including souvenirs; mens clothing, especially in small and medium sizes; flatware, and other housewares. The Blue Flamingo is also happy to receive donations of seeds and garden tools for the Big Garden.

Thank You!

We appreciate your support.  We hope you will continue to think of Blue Flamingo whenever you are cleaning out closets, purchasing gifts, or shopping for unique treasures.
