Get Ready for the Bride(s) of Your Life
Tradition, Tradition
The average Loudoun County wedding costs about $32,000 including the ceremony, reception, decor, catering and attire*.  If you have experienced planning a wedding, you know there are countless details to be decided.  Wedding Day jewelry can be a significant part of this expense.
Something Old:   Heirloom jewelry is a beautiful tradition, but as many things do, with wear, maintenance is often needed.  A wedding is a perfect time to refurbish an heirloom piece and gift it to a Bride.
Something New:  Pearls are some of the most popular wedding jewelry.  They are classic, timeless, and can be worn for years to come after the "Big Day".  Diamond earrings and pendants are also prominent as they withstand every day wear and can become future heirloom pieces.
Something Borrowed:  Each of the Ketterman Girls wore an antique bangle bracelet that had belonged to their great-grandmother.  It is a tradition to take a picture of Aunt Kim (the current "keeper of the bracelet") putting the bracelet on the Bride.  Oh if that bracelet could talk, the great memories it would share.
Somthing Blue:   A subtle way to uphold this colorful tradition is with a bit of blue in your jewelry.  Aquamarine is a beautiful pale blue that is versatile for future wear, and not as expensive as the deep blue Sapphire.
 Bridesmaids
Stand by Me
A popular gift from the bride and groom to their attendants is something to be worn on the wedding day.  For the ladies, a sterling silver engraved bracelet, necklace, or earrings is a nice commemorative piece.  Pandora bracelets also make a nice "memorable moment' gift.  Brighton has been a popular line for brides, as fashion jewelry is more affordable that precious metal pieces.  Gentleman are typically less sentimental, but that doesn't mean we can forget about them.  A nice engraved flask or tankard, or a Brighton belt is a great way to say "thank you".  Or for the more formal, a set of engraved cuff-links or a money clip can be both special and useful for the wedding day.
Groomsmen
One in 150,000
Wedding season is considered mid April through June (although the most popular month to get married in Virginia is September).  Approximately 150,000 wedding gifts were given in 2011* in Loudoun, and chances are yours was one of them.  While stand mixers and crock pots are holding strong at the top of the wedding registries, some of Ketterman's most popular gifts have been engraved wedding invitations on J. Devlin glass frames or Mariposa and Beatriz Ball tableware.  Engraved memory boxes and Julia Knight serving pieces are also big hits for Brides (and grooms) to be.  We have heard from a few of our customers that the bride wanted to open their gift first because, "they knew it was from Ketterman's".

Feature Product
-Mariposa-
"We have a gift for entertaining."

Mariposa is a line of tableware and giftware  handmade with 100% recycled aluminum.
The company started in 1984 after a trip Livia Cowan and her sister  took to Mexico. They returned to Massachusetts with a camper full of recycled glassware and Mariposa was born.  Their head office remains in their home state, while most of the aluminum-ware is crafted in Mexico, where the sisters' initial love of  the art was born.

Mariposa offers an extensive line ranging in design, size, and price.  Their versatility and innovation give them broad appeal in many audiences.  Each piece is engravable and when given as a gift, never fail to impress.

Fun Fact...

DID YOU KNOW?

There were more than 2000 weddings in Loudoun County in 2011.  If that seems like a low number to you, that averages out to nearly 39 weddings every weekend.

The traditional first year anniversary gift is paper or clocks - and Ketterman's has both!
