McIver Project Schools Get New Names

The Board of Education voted on June 11 to name the Hairston Middle-Falkener Elementary site the Sarah Walden Herbin-Dale J. Metz Education Center. The Hairston-Falkener site is one of two that will replace McIver Education Center, with the second site located at Ragsdale High.

At the May 30 meeting, the board voted to name the Ragsdale site for longtime Guilford County educator Christine Greene.

The Christine Joyner Greene Education Center will serve special-needs students in grades nine through age 22, while the Herbin-Metz Education Center will serve students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Both locations are scheduled to welcome students in August.
