DR DUBEC

From the Desk of Dr. Dubec

Spring is always busy in Palos 118 with students and teachers working diligently to complete the year's curriculum. End of the year programs are being planned, and parent volunteers through our PFA are preparing for graduation and culminating activities. Spring is also time for recognition ceremonies, and I was very proud of all the students at West who were honored for their academic achievements at the Board of Education meeting last night.

Several administrative changes will be taking place in our schools for the 2013-2014 school year. Last evening, the Board of Education appointed Mr. Stuart Wrzesinski as the new Palos West Principal. Mr. Wrzesinski will replace Dr. Ron Cozza as he assumes the helm at Palos South. Current South Principal, Mr. Chris Bingen will be departing to take a principalship in Schaumburg. Additionally, a new assistant principal for Palos East will also be named in the weeks to come.

Teachers play a key role in every student's academic and emotional development.  We will be taking time to show our gratitude to our wonderful teachers and staff for their dedication during Staff Appreciation Week May 6-10.  Our teachers and staff at East, West, and South, make the school environments a place for ambition to thrive through encouragement, creativity, sensitivity and motivation.

With the fourth quarter approaching, there are many upcoming events and activities such as concerts, games, NJHS Inductions, graduation, and Grandparents'/Special People Days.  Please consult your school website often for detailed information about important dates.   I look forward to an exciting spring filled with many Palos 118 memorable events.

Sincerely,

Joseph M. Dubec, Ed.D., J.D.

Mr. Stuart E. Wrzesinski has been appointed by the Board of Education as the new Palos West Principal for the 2013-14 school year.
