Christ-Centered Classical Curriculum
Now Enrolling for 2014-2015
Junior Kindergarten- High School |
A Note from Mrs. Lowder
Greetings NHCS families -
It has been an amazing start to our second semester and to 2014! It is hard to believe we are already into week 8 of the new year. Our campus is buzzing with excitement and I hope that you will share this newsletter with your family and friends.
Our enrollment season was kicked off in late January and re-enrollment is up nearly 15% from this time last year. We are at the point of capping a few grades and waiting lists will be started as a result. We have also begun the process of interviewing prospective students and families. You may see new faces touring so please help us welcome them. Our families and friends are always our best source for new mission appropriate students. Thank you for all you do in sharing our mission and purpose with others. We all are at NHCS because we are committed to "equipping the hearts and minds of students to impact the world for Christ."
We have held a number of events on campus to support our mission and expand our impact. These events included "What to Expect" meetings in January for JK/Kindergarten, rising 6th graders, and rising 9th graders for current and prospective families. We also had Shadow Day for prospective families on February 8th. These events combined attracted nearly 20 new families to our school. It was a blessing to see so many interested in what NHCS has to offer.
We were also blessed to have had our first Son-Rise breakfast for our local pastors on February 18th with 28 pastors from various denominations in attendance. The purpose of this event was to create a dialogue to:
- Work together to make the greatest impact for Christ.
- Inform pastors of what NHCS has to offer in our community/sharing our mission.
- Inform pastors and their congregations about upcoming events on our campus.
Each pastor left with information to share regarding the upcoming "A Night with Josh McDowell" event on April 3rd. This event will be held in the Helen Kelley Smith Gymnasium and seats are limited. You don't want to miss this opportunity to share a nice meal, support our NHCS annual fund and most importantly to hear an impactful message on "Teaching Truth in a Whatever Culture".
I continue to be overwhelmed by all of the support from not only our faculty and staff but from our families! Those that volunteer their time and energy for our school make all the difference in our events being successful. A special thank you to the PTSF, Booster Club and to our Vision Banquet committee for all you do to support our school!!
Blessings to you all,
Maria Lowder
Executive Director, NHCS

We're Not So Common.
A comparison of our curriculum and Common Core

Speakers presented topics that hit home for the teens ─ bullying, depression, substance abuse, and media. Eighth-grader Camantha Rae Lyerly commented, "It was a wake-up call to Click here to read more
