Maria Lowder Selected as Executive
Director of North Hills Christian School 
The Board of Directors of North Hills Christian School (NHCS) is excited to announce the appointment of Maria Lowder as the school's new Executive Director effective, January, 1st, 2014. The hiring of Lowder comes after an approximate year long process of determining the appropriate leadership model for the school and ensuring the model would advance the school's mission and vision.  In the role of Executive Director of NorthHills Christian School, Lowder will report directly to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for ensuring the fulfillment of the school's mission: "Equipping Hearts and Minds of Students to Impact the World for Christ".  To the assembled NHCS staff where her announcement was made, Lowder commented;

State of the School Meeting - January 23 
Attention all current parents & prospective parents:  
Plan to attend our annual State of the School Meeting this Thursday, January 23, at 7:00 p.m. in the Helen Kelley Smith Gymnasium.  This is an important informational event. The following will be shared:  
-An introduction and update from our Board of Directors
-Our vision for the 2014-2015 School Year
-Important tuition, re-enrollment, and tuition assistance information
-How you can help make an eternal difference in the lives of our students through volunteering, referrals, etc.
An Evening with Josh McDowell... 
Teaching Truth in a "Whatever" Culture
 April 3, 2014 at NHCS   Advance Tickets Required- $50 per person
 
Josh McDowell, a leading inspirational Christian author and speaker, will present a program entitled, "Teaching Truth in a Whatever Culture," at North Hills Christian School's annual Vision Banquet this spring.  Join us for "A Night with Josh McDowell" on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. in our Helen Kelley Smith Gymnasium for dinner, music, and the presentation.  We are so blessed to host Mr. McDowell, who speaks all over the world, has written or co-authored 138 books, and shares his incredible testimony.  Click here to read his bio and view a video about Josh.

Students Inducted into the New
Honors Academy at North Hills Christian School 

Five Students Accepted to the New Honors Academy at North Hills Christian School

Five high school students at North Hills Christian School (NHCS) made history recently as the first students accepted into the new Honors Academy at North Hills Christian School. The following students were admitted into the prestigious academy: Ethan Aguilera, Savanna Alligood, Brittney Hogan, Avery McGrail, and Jordan Plummer.  Click here to read more    

   Shadow Days Coming Up
in February and March
Shadow Days offer prospective parents and students an opportunity to learn more about our school and experience a "typical day" at North Hills Christian School (NHCS).  Join us at 8:45 a.m. for coffee, a light breakfast, and check-in.  Parents are invited to hear a presentation about a Christ-centered Classical education at NHCS and tour the campus. Meanwhile, your child can "shadow" one of our current NHCS students until 11:30 a.m.  Reservations are required to shadow one week prior to the event.  Meet in the school lobby for coffee and check-in.

Come out and Support our Eagles !
Varsity boys beat conference rival Piedmont Community Charter last Tuesday.  Varsity boys, girls, and middle school girls are currently undefeated in conference play.  Come out to support our athletes!  Games schedules and venues are subject to change, so check the calendar before coming.  Click here for our athletic schedule.

2013-2014 Annual Fund Goal: $155,000
We have raised 40% of our total goal in contributions and pledges to date.  Our annual giving campaign provides critical funds needed to bridge the gap for what is not currently covered by tuition.    
  
Why support the Annual Fund?
Rather than selling candy, gift wrap, and other items, we ask for a direct donation to support our mission. Contributions are used to help us recruit and retain teachers, provide professional development training, improve our programs, and provide tuition assistance.  Click here to email us your committment and we will send you a pledge reminder for payment, or click here to donate now online.

Harris Teeter $10,000 Giveaway
This month Harris Teeter is launching the 2014 TIE $100,000 Giveaway.  Beginning February 1, 2014 they will give away $10,000 for 10 consecutive weeks.  Winnings will be split between customers and schools.  To participate, link your VIC card to NHCS, if you haven't already done so, and shop at Harris Teeter during the promotion.
