Alex, Lindsay, and Eliana Bell welcomed Thaddeus Alexander to their family on December 16.
We invite you to join us as we celebrate the birth and light of Christ with our Christmas Eve Service THIS Thursday at 5 pm
in the Market Square pavilion. Please note, this service will not be canceled. In the event of rain, we will meet in the 4MS conference room and send an email notification by 2 pm that day.
Our hearts are broken over the tragic events this weekend, including the death of Zaevion Dobson.
Please be in prayer for Sandy Lanzoni, Joe Morelock, and Emily Kennedy as Joe and Sandy teach and Emily leads Young Life at Fulton High School. Here is part of Emily's testimony given at church last night: "Zae Dobson died two and a half hours after he sat in front of me at the Fulton basketball game. During a random shooting, he took multiple bullets for my friends, Faith and Kierra. This sounds crazy because it seems sounds like the climax of a movie based on a 1960s sports team, but no, this is my ministry. There is not a whole lot you can say during a heartbreak like this - but I will say "feel the charge of the Lord to seek the peace of the city. Our ministry is urgent... within two and a half hours a kid can be gone. We are called to look at these students as eternal beings and the reality of their lives is that they could enter into eternity at any moment. Do not let fear win - advance the kingdom with a fierce war cry to save the souls of our city."
Zaevion's funeral will be held December 26, at 11:00 am, at Overcoming Believers Church. Joe Morelock sent this link if you would like to donate money to a scholarship that has been set up by Fulton Principal Rob Speas in Zaevion Dobson's name, https://www.gofundme.com/9yfmfu5b. Fulton high school will be open Sunday Jan 3 at 4:00 for our community to come in and pray in the halls and over lockers for our students.
On January 3, our evening service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 620 State Street, 37902. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be able to use the Square Room on this date. First Presbyterian Church (FPC) has graciously allowed us to worship in their sanctuary at 5:00. You may park in the parking lot attached to the church or in the State Street Garage (free). We are asking everyone to please from the main doors of the sanctuary on State Street (behind the Tennessee Theatre). For a detailed parking map, please click here. If you have questions or need more information, please email jill@allsoulsknoxville.com.
As we come to the close of the All Souls budget year, our revenue is currently projected to be about $30,000 less than what is needed to cover our operating budget. As you prepare your year-end contributions, please prayerfully consider this situation and your gifts to All Souls. Remember you may make a donation online by clicking here. We have updated the church directory. Email jill@allsoulsknoxville.com for the username and password to access that portion of our website reserved for members and regular attendees. Also, please check that your personal information is correct so that end-of-year charitable contribution statements go to the correct address. The Shepherding Team will meet on Tuesday, January 5. Please pray for this group as they serve in a twofold capacity: the spiritual leaders and the legal Board of Directors of All Souls Church. Click for the October and November Shepherding Team minutes. Please note Monday afternoon prayer in the chapel and Compline at the Loys' and Johnsons' will take a break for the holidays and resume the week of January 4.

From Mary Baldridge: I am organizing a group to go to Spain for two weeks between May 21 and June 5, 2016. The trip will include a week in central Spain examining the religious and spiritual history and culture of Spain, and a week walking the last 65 miles of the Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James), a 1400-year-old pilgrimage trail to the tomb of Saint James the Great in Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain. Email mbaldridge@cn.edu for more information.

Service, Prayer Times, and Information
Part of the All Souls vision to "seek the peace of the city" is to be an urban monastery, pausing throughout the day to gather with others as we "pray the hours" in our downtown chapel, as well as various locations across the city. Each week, throughout the day, there will be a variety of contemplative prayer services. We invite you to join us. Click here to download a prayer schedule with days, times, and locations. Please note Monday afternoon prayer in the chapel and Compline at the Loys and Johnsons will take a break for the holidays and resume the week of January 4.
Church Service: 5 pm in the Square Room in 4 Market Square

All Souls offers several classes for children during our Sunday evening service on the third floor. There is a nursery for babies under the age of one, and two classes for 1 to 2-year olds that meet during the whole service on the third floor. Children between the ages of 3 and 11 stay for the first part of the service and then come upstairs for a time of Bible stories, songs, and fun. Contact Melanie Leach at 865-705-9482 or keepingheart@gmail.com.
If you're moving or going on a mission trip and would like for the church to send you out with prayer during the worship service, contact Jesse at jesse@allsoulsknoxville.com.
