From Dan Holbrook:
The nominating committee is presenting the following slate of candidates for the 2016 Shepherding Team: Erin Callahan, Jana Morgan Kelly, and Travetta Johnson. The election will be held after church THIS Sunday evening.
We encourage all members to seek out these candidates, that you may feel prepared for the vote. Also, Marie Alcorn is rotating off the Shepherding Team at the end of December, having served as chair this last year. Please thank Marie for her years of generously giving her time and talent to the body.
We have been invited to join First Presbyterian Church at the Market Square Pavilion this Sunday, November 22, at 7:00 pm, for a prayer vigil for Paris, Beirut, Syria and the refugee "on the way." It will be a brief service with a responsive prayer and music.
Thanksgiving Prayer Service: Come and give thanks to the Lord on the Eve of Thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 25, from 6:00 to 6:30, in the Chapel.
Part of the All Souls vision to "seek the peace of the city" is to be an urban monastery, pausing throughout the day to gather with others as we "pray the hours" in our downtown chapel, as well as various locations across the city. Starting with this Advent season (Sunday, November 29), several "monks" among us have volunteered to lead and/or host a variety of contemplative prayer services throughout the day, each week. Most are brief--20-30 minutes; several are extended, up to 1 hour. We invite you to join us.
Ultimately, we would love to offer morning, noon, and evening prayers each day of the week, and in each neighborhood represented at All Souls. Imagine our worshiping community gathered in small clusters in every neighborhood, at the same times every day, to bless our city! So, if you see an opening for a time and place not already covered where you live, study, or work, we invite you to open up another space and time for us to "pray the hours" together. For more information or resources on how to do this, contact any of our current prayer leaders: Mary Baldridge mbaldridge@cn.edu; Doug Banister doug@allsoulsknoxville.com; David Gayk dwgayk@companimal.com; Susanne Hassell suhassell@gmail.com; Travetta Johnson travetta@msn.com; Rebecca Loy loy.rebecca@gmail.com; Stephen Otis otispink@hotmail.com.

For more information, email davidleach7@gmail.com. Center Prayer Ministries is a inter-denominational ministry of prayer. With the Gospel as our foundation, we desire to unify with the body of Christ in Knoxville while interceding for the lost, oppressed, and offering worship to the Lord. We believe that not only will unification around the Gospel exalt, glorify, and magnify Jesus, it will also greatly impact the world. The corporate nature of this ministry is based on this significant desire of Jesus as stated in John 17 during prayer:
"I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, they they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me."
Small grants available. As part of our 2015 10 to the City tithe, money has been set aside for our people to "Seek the Peace of the City" as individuals, as a family, or as a small group. Funds are still available if you know of a project that will bless and positively impact Knoxville. This is especially timely as we near the holidays. Click here to apply for a small grant.
