Balloon launch after Bethel A.M.E. prayer service

The Shepherding Team at All Souls meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 6 pm in the Chapel. Should you have a desire to discuss an issue with the Team, you are welcome to do so using the guidelines below.  A floor announcement  after the service will be made two weeks prior to each meeting, followed by an announcement in the newsletter. The next meeting is Tuesday, July 7. You may access the guidelines for attending a Shepherding Team meeting here.

Roxie Moore

The communication team at All Souls has been working together for the last few months discussing how we can communicate the testimonies of people in our body. We are praying that these stories will connect and encourage people as they follow Christ and live and serve in community. "Life at All Souls" is a series of stories written by our people about our people living out their faith and participating in the vision of All Souls Church. Our second story, written by Hannah Houser, features Roxie Moore.  You can read about Roxie's life experiences as a teacher and a helper as well her work at Volunteer Ministry Center here.

Bethel A.M.E. Church Service Follow-up: Last Wednesday evening our congregation joined with several other Knoxville churches in a special prayer service for the Charleston shooting victims. An offering was taken to assist with the burial and expenses related to those who lost their lives. If you would like to contribute, the address is "Mother Emanuel Hope Fund," Seventh Episcopal District, 110 Pisgah Church Road, Columbia, SC 29203.

After four months of chemotherapy, Susanne Hassell is in complete remission. Thanks be to God!
However, because her multiple myeloma has recurred aggressively in the past, she will continue with the chemo treatments for now. Please pray for complete healing and/or that she will remain in a long remission. For updates on her cancer journey, see http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/suhassell

The Arts & Culture Alliance is pleased to present a new group exhibition by the Artists of 17th Street Studios titled "Amalgam Volume 3". An opening reception will take place on Friday, July 3, from 5 - 9 pm at the Emporium Center. The exhibition will be on display through July 31. Redeemer Church of Knoxville houses the 17th Street Studios, and the space is shared among painters, sculptors, illustrators, drawers, and graphic artists. This is their third annual group exhibition, which features work by All Souls' own Ashley Dawn Addair.

Eliana, Mark Pate

Several weeks ago, Doug wrote an article for the Knoxville News Sentinel about one man's journey from homelessness to empowerment. Three weeks later, Doug followed up that story with the story of how that man was reunited with his three sons, who had read Doug's story in the paper and found their dad.

From David and Travetta Johnson: We are going to the Wild Goose Festival in nearby Hot Springs, North Carolina, July 9-12, and we would love for you to join us there!  It's a faith-based festival emphasizing spirituality, justice, music, and the arts.  The theme is "Blessed are the Peacemakers."  We will be among those who are camping, so bring your sleeping bag and a tent if you have one and join us!  Lodging is also available in nearby hotels.  If you can't stay for the whole festival, day passes will be available as space allows.  For costs and info, check it all out here: http://wildgoosefestival.org/.  To contact the Johnsons, email travetta@msn.com.

All Souls offers several classes for children during our Sunday evening service on the third floor. There is a nursery for babies under the age of one, and two classes for 1 to 2-year olds that meet during the whole service on the third floor. Children between the ages of 3 and 11 stay for the first part of the service and then come upstairs for a time of Bible stories, songs, and fun. Contact Melanie Leach at 865-705-9482 or keepingheart@gmail.com.

If you're moving or going on a mission trip and would like for the church to send you out with prayer during the worship service, contact Jesse at jesse@allsoulsknoxville.com.
