For the summer we hope you will enjoy an abbreviated newsletter.
| Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Lanzoni! |
Shepherding Team News:
- The Shepherding Team is looking at policies and guidelines around All Souls' communication pieces, specifically, our newsletter, website, social media, as well as the use of photographs of our people across these platforms. Once approved, these policies will be available on our website.
- Kate Brimer and Mary Baldridge are forming a committee made up of AS members to lead our 10-to-the-City process later this year.
- One applicant applied and was approved for monies from the medical fund. The next application period will be August 1-15.
- The Shepherding Team is working on written guidelines to follow if and when a member wishes to attend a monthly meeting to address the Team regarding a concern or issue. These guidelines will be communicated to the body once completed.
- There was much discussion around how we apply consensual orthodoxy as a body and love each other well in areas of disagreement. It was brought to the Shepherding Team's attention that Lisa Murray has offered to use her training and expertise in the area of collaborative communication to teach us how to navigate these discussions. As an initial step, the decision was made to bring in Lisa and her colleague, Ferlin McGaskey, to lead the Team in a mini-retreat where we learn the tools of honest, respectful dialogue and practice using them around an area(s) of potential conflict.

With much help from Katie Norrell, our Communication Consultant, we have added a new "user section" to our website. This section "houses" documents that are specifically related to our life together at All Souls Church. The "10-to-the-City" icon
will keep you up to date on our community partners, allow you to access the small group grant application, and inform you on where we are in this year's 10-to-the-City process. The "Community" icon allows you access and/or download our 2015 church directory. You will find the "Life at All Souls" icon here and be able to read stories by our people about our people. You will be able to access the medical fund application and policy by clicking the "Medical Fund" icon. Under the "Shepherding Team" icon, you can access the church bylaws, the minutes from this year's Shepherding Team meetings, and the form to nominate members to the Team when we reach that time of year. You can also access online giving and the sermon podcasts from here, as well as update your contact information to keep our directory up to date.
PLEASE NOTE: Because of the personal nature of the information on our people, the user section is limited to our members/regular attendees and is password protected.
You can email Jill Branson at jill@allsoulsknoxville.com for access.
The user section can be found on our website under "resources," or by clicking here.
If you have a portable CD player/boombox that you would be willing to donate to our children's ministry for Sunday school use, please email Melanie at
keepingheart@gmail.com. We use these to sing along with during children's worship and our current CD players are worn out.
