News from the Shepherding Team's May 5 Meeting
Bruce Charles reported that giving is up and we are ahead of budget by $18K. We have added an option for online giving which can be accessed through the website and the newsletter.
Mary Baldridge and Kate Brimer are working on a 10-to-the-City process that will begin later this year. They have been in touch with past committee members, as well as our community partners, to see if improvements need to be made.
A task force made up of Marie Alcorn, Dan Holbrook, Danny Bullington, Daniel Odle, and Jesse Watkins is meeting to clarify and document what makes All Souls distinct as a worshiping body.
Additions were made to the Shepherding Team work plan. In July, discussion will center on guidelines for Pastoral Prayer. In August, discussion will focus on Doug taking personal positions on issues within the community and whether that affects his role as pastor at ASK.
There was active discussion regarding the discernment process including three visitors, two of whom have served on the Discernment Team. Continued discussion is anticipated.
April Shepherding Team Minutes
The Communication Team at All Souls has been working together for the last few months discussing how we can communicate the testimonies of people in our body. We are praying that these stories will connect and encourage people as they follow Christ and live and serve in community. "Life at All Souls" is a series of stories written by our people about our people living out their faith and participating in the vision of All Souls Church. Our first story, written by Luke Lanzoni, features Stephen Otis. You can read about Stephen's experiences following the Holy Spirit, reaching out to kids affected by gang presence in Parkridge, and living in intentional community by clicking here.
Please mark your calendars for an All Souls Pizza Dinner after church on Sunday, May 31. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet those you may not know and connect with those you do. Pizza and drinks will be provided and there will be a donation basket if you would like to help defray expenses. You are welcome to bring a dessert or finger food to share. We have someone in our body with a severe melon allergy. If you are bringing a finger food to share, we ask you to please refrain from bringing melon of any kind.
New Online Giving Option Available:
We believe giving is an act of worship, as we learn to respond in a very tangible way to the incredible generosity of God. We give out of grateful hearts in recognition that God owns everything, and we are to be faithful stewards of all He entrusts to us. We are pleased to now offer an online giving option through Easy Tithe. Easy Tithe conforms to the highest set of security standards in the industry, so your transactions will be secure. Click giving.allsoulsknoxville.com and follow the instructions to set up your account. You can give a one-time gift or set up recurring giving. This will not replace the weekly offertory part of our service, but is an additional way to give tithes and offerings. You may also mail your gift to the church at the following address: 4 Market Square, 37902.

Knox Area Rescue Ministries (KARM) is not one of our community partners through our 10-to-the-City tithe, but we have several people within our body who work and volunteer there. We have signed up for KARM's "Corners of Your Field" program. In the first quarter of 2015, KARM Stores received 26 donations from those connected to All Souls Church. Those donations helped provide 590 meals to guests at Knox Area Rescue Ministries. To learn more about the "Corners of Your Field" program, visit http://karm.org/karm-stores/coyf/.
