If you would like to put an announcement in the newsletter, whether it's yours or an event that you'd like to share in the city (that takes place downtown), please type up announcements with a few (3-5) sentences that include ALL necessary information and send to Jill Branson in the office at jill@allsoulsknoxville.com.
Our Easter Service will be held at Old Mechanicsville Park at 10 am April 5. Please bring a chair. You may park at the Helen Ross McNabb's facility. Please note there will be no evening service. Interested in being baptized at our Easter service? Contact Doug at doug@allsoulsknoxville.com.
All are welcome to join the Charles' Easter celebration. We will host an open house for brunch at 11:30 am on Easter Day. Bring a side dish if you are able. Remember that one is never too old for an egg hunt. Our address is 6722 Crystal View Way, 37919. Please RSVP at lscharlestn@yahoo.com.
We celebrate Maundy Thursday on April 2 at 6 pm in the Square Room.
Our evening together takes its inspiration from the Last Supper, where Jesus washes the feet of his disciples and gives them the deeper command to love as He loves, and He promises the Holy Spirit will come (John 13-17). We celebrate the story together with a potluck meal and a short service with music, teaching, foot washing, and Eucharist. Bring a dish to share. We will provide drinks and utensils.

March Shepherding Team News -
-
Responding to the expanded role of staff of All Souls in the past year, the by-laws were changed to read thusly: "The lead Pastor and up to two additional staff shall be ex officio voting members of the Shepherding Team." Jill Branson has been added as the second additional staff with voting privileges.
-
The development of a new granting process for Ten-to-the-City (the church's tithe) will begin later in the year and will involve the support of the All Souls body. In order for our small groups to bless the city in the meantime, small group grants of
up to $500 are once again available. Your group may access the application on the church website.
-
In an effort to ensure the safety of our children and as we consider ways to care for our families well, the Shepherding Team approved funding for background checks to be administered on all volunteers who have contact with our children and youth. This is a proactive measure suggested by our insurance company.
-
While public announcements and invitations are extended to All Souls attendees for the many Bible studies supported by those in our church, there is thirst for more knowledge of the Word. The Shepherding Team is developing ways to provide more support for Scriptural instruction and edification.
-
Members of the Shepherding Team ask for your prayers for an upcoming overnight retreat March 27-28.

Knoxville Community Involvement
All Souls does not take formal positions on doctrinal or ethical positions outside of the Creed. We do, however, support our people as they, under the authority of scripture, in prayer and through community, discern the way of Christ in our world. Following Augustine, we believe in essentials, unity, in non-essentials, charity and in all things love. We celebrate all the diverse ways our members follow Christ in the world, even when we disagree with one another. Announcements in the update reflect the many ways our people are serving God in our community. They do not reflect All Souls' endorsement of a particular issue, doctrinal position, or cause.

Cost of Poverty Experience
Tuesday March 31 from 2 - 5 pm at Fellowship Church. Be sure to register HERE !
Poverty is an epidemic in the United States affecting an estimated 46 million Americans. Knox County is no different than the rest of the US. Though we have a thriving community with much wealth and growth, one out of six in our county lives in poverty.
For those of us who do not fall into the poverty category we most likely have a very difficult time truly understanding what life is like for those who do. The Cost of Poverty Experience (C.O.P.E.), created by Think Tank, Inc., is an event that offers a glimpse into the lives of low-income individuals and families living in the community. It is a snapshot of the obstacles that are faced, the decisions that are made, and the consequences that impact these families every day.
Compassion Coalition's Salt & Light Luncheon has been rescheduled for April 23 after two weather cancellations! Please be sure to RSVP for the new date even if you signed up for an earlier date.
