From Amy Easterly -

I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for your love, prayers and kindness.  We made it home to TN Sunday night and will see Violette's pediatrician first thing Monday morning.

We stopped once when Violette was crying in pain.  As we were leaving the store, we noticed an EMT had pulled in.  They checked her vitals for us, which were all normal.  Her left lung was diminished, but this was to be expected as she still showed lung infiltrate on her last xray.  Alexander also got to see the inside of the truck, which was healing for him.

Violette is doing amazingly well.  One M.D. reminded me, "you know this is a miracle, right?" YES!

Thank you for your continued prayers. Would you please include Alexander, her four year old brother? He watched her "sink" and is the one who the hotel staff said was telling people "my sister won't come up."  Both of these kids are something else!

Love to you all!  God has blown me away once again.

 Knoxville Community Involvement

All Souls does not take formal positions on doctrinal or ethical positions outside of the Creed. We do, however, support our people as they, under the authority of scripture, in prayer and through community, discern the way of Christ in our world. Following Augustine, we believe in essentials, unity, in non-essentials, charity and in all things love. We celebrate all the diverse ways our members  follow Christ in the world, even when we disagree with one another. Announcements in the update reflect the many ways our people are serving God in our community. They do not reflect All Souls' endorsement of a particular issue, doctrinal position, or cause.

"Because He First Loved Us!" is a Valentine's Day Dinner and Dance for Single Parents and their families. While others may make plans to splurge on Valentine dinners, shows, and gifts, the focus will be on those who may not be able to experience the same but are just as deserving. See information below on ways you can help serve our modern day widows and orphans for a day of laughter, fun, dinner, and dancing.

This eventwill be hosted by Knoxville's Empowering Single Parent Network(KESPN)-a community of volunteers who host special events and celebrations for single parents and their families for a very low-affordable cost.

Volunteers are needed as: table hosts, greeters, childcare, servers, cooks, decorators, photographers, DJ, and help with set-up and breakdown.

Donations are needed: valentine arts and crafts, small stuffed animals, door prizes for the single parents who will be attending, and goodies to go in the valentine's love bags (candy, cards of love, pens, encouraging artwork, picture frames, etc.) for each single parent family.

The cost of the event is $15.00 (per family), which includes a nice dinner, family photos with backdrop, and Valentine Arts & Crafts for each child. Please call 865-951-6651, or email Sherra sl.robinson92@gmail.com for more information.

Volunteer Opportunity for Lawyers at KARM

Every other Thursday, local lawyers volunteer their time at KARM for the Homeless Experience Legal Protection (HELP) clinics between 5:30 and 7:30 pm. There is a volunteer manual to help you answer questions. Most of the time the people you serve just need some one to talk to about their experience. This Clinic is a joint effort of the University of Tennessee College of Law, Legal Aid of East Tennessee and the ABA, Section of Litigation. Volunteers are coordinated through Kelli Thompson at Baker, Donelson. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Kelli at 549-7205. The clinic dates are on the KBA calendar.
