The focus is on vintage swing music and dancing from the early 20's to late 40's. Are you interested in learning how to dance? From 7 - 8 pm there are beginner-friendly dance lessons open to everyone that are included in admission for the dance. Don't have a partner? Don't worry! There are classes that rotate partners so you'll get a chance to dance with everyone. The floor is open for social dancing from 9 - 10:30. The most important thing is to have fun!

"Canstruction"
Holiday "Canstruction" presented by Messer Construction Co. is a giant art exhibition with a purpose - fighting hunger. Teams of Knoxville architects, engineers, contractors, designers and students will construct holiday-themed works of art made of canned food. View the sculptures and vote for your favorite at the Knoxville Convention Center, Nov. 22-Dec. 3 during convention center hours. Free.
All canned food used to build the sculptures will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee. "Canstruction" is one of the largest national food bank drives in world and takes place in more than 170 U.S. cities each year.

Regal Celebration of Lights

MAYOR MADELINE ROGERO will lead the countdown as downtown Knoxville lights up for the holidays at the Regal Celebration of Lights. It features the lighting of the 38-foot-high Christmas tree which fronts on Gay Street amid the glow of more than 100,000 blue and white lights decorating downtown.
WDVX Holiday Ho-Ho-Hoedown entertainment at 6:30 p.m. on Market Square Stage including Downtown Knoxville becomes a Christmas village with caroling and marshmallow roasting Performance by Old City Buskers Train rides for children of all ages FREE activities including pictures with Santa Claus, hot cocoa by the Salvation Army, face painting, balloon animals & much more! |
