After a two-month nomination process, the nominating committee is pleased to announce the 2014 Shepherding Team slate: Danny Bullington, Dan Holbrook and Ginger Kielarowski. The congregation will vote yes or no to the entire slate after the service on Sunday, Nov. 23. Please take the next few weeks to pray over the slate and get to know the candidates--read their bios, ask them questions, pass the peace and encourage them as they consider this new leadership role. Danny Bullington was raised in the Southern Baptist Church--literally! His mom was active in all aspects of ministry and his dad was a deacon. As a small boy, Danny accepted Jesus's gift of His death for his sins and became a Christian. He met his wife, Jane, at the University of Arkansas, and after their graduation and wedding, they entered the International Mission Board's Journeyman program to teach in Nyrei, Kenya. With master's degrees in both Genetics & Animal Breeding and Educational Psychology, Danny had a 34-year career with the Extension Service working with youth. He and Jane have two children of their own: Travis and Jamie, both married to great spouses. Ordained as a Deacon in 1975 and having served in four churches over 35 years, Danny would like to see All Souls known as the voice that speaks, in love and humbleness, God's Biblical word in a consistent manner, not subject to any cultural mores currently in vogue.
Dan Holbrook was among those who helped launch All Souls in 2004, serving on its first Leadership Team and then Shepherding Team. Saved by grace after entering the working world, Dan sees all of life as part of God's creative work and redemptive plan, and believes strongly in the role of intentional relationship groups in spiritual growth. He is a lawyer specializing in estate planning and non-profits. Still happily married to his junior high inamorata, he is father of two and grandfather of four, all of whom live way too far away. Dan's hobby is endurance running, so you may often find him out on the trails of our local parks.
Ginger Kielarowski relocated to Knoxville from Cincinnati in 2009 with her husband, Ray, and their daughters, Bailey and Meredith. Seeking adventure, they temporarily moved downtown to the Candy Factory. The adventure soon
turned to a mission as the Lord softened their hearts toward the vulnerable and the poor. They moved again, this time permanently to Fire Street Lofts in the Old City. Being drawn to All Soul's mission to seek the peace of the city and feeling a leading, they joined the church in 2011. Ginger's mission work in Knoxville has largely been in the community: she volunteer teaches at Green Magnet Academy, mentors a child through Big Brothers and Big Sisters and serves as an officer of their homeowner's association. Known by many as the woman who makes announcements for the ASK Medical Fund, Ginger has served on the committee for three years. She has also been involved with small groups and has the privilege of rocking our newest babies in the nursery. Ginger has felt a leading again, this time to take on a role in leadership on the Shepherding Team. She looks forward to serving our body in this capacity.
