A Note from Cally:
In January of 2013, a friend of mine and I began taking a weekly meal for our friends at the Mouse's Ear (a local strip club). We believe that friendship forms when we abandon our own agenda, and instead, explore the unknown of meeting people wherever that so happens to be; whether a strip club or on the street. This is not about trying to fix a situation or a person, but all about love; a love rooted in Christ, where we all belong to one another. Over the past year, we have noticed that trust is forming, and each week, the door continues to open a little bit wider. We would love to eventually expand this ministry to every strip club in Knoxville, but for now, we plan to continue till the next door opens.
If you are interested in hearing more about this ministry and partnering with us to take a meal and/or provide a meal/part of a meal, we are holding an informational meeting on Tuesday November 4th at 7:30 pm at the Plaid Apron in Sequoyah Hills.
A new Pilgrimage Class begins THIS Monday, November 3rd, running through December 8th.

Help You Dwell (Caroline Smith and Taryn McLean) cordially invite you & a friend to join us for our Holiday Pop-Up Market at Caroline's house at 1721 Coker Avenue on Saturday, November 8th from 12 to 5 pm.
Artisans from the Knoxville area will be offering their handcrafted home wares including woodwork, handmade furniture, visual art and hand lettered prints, architectural salvage, handmade ornaments, Mason Jar lamps, and pottery.

New Holy Paths Retreat

The All Souls medical fund is now accepting applications for this quarter through October 31st. The fund is available to help members and regular All Souls attendees with medical, behavioral, and dental needs.

Grab enough chips & salsa to share, or prepare a dish to contribute and join us when you can! The Soul Mammas: If you are a mom with a young baby interested in hanging out with other moms and their babies you should come meet with the Soul Mammas.
We meet Mondays at noon at varying locations. We talk about mom stuff, spiritual stuff, and have a desire to grow in prayer together. Please email/text Sarah Whisman at yankeevol82@ gmail.com or 865-385-1482.

Community Involvement
All Souls does not take formal positions on doctrinal or ethical positions outside of the Creed. We do, however, support our people as they, under the authority of scripture, in prayer and through community, discern the way of Christ in our world. Following Augustine, we believe in essentials, unity, in non-essentials, charity and in all things love. We celebrate all the diverse ways our members follow Christ in the world, even when we disagree with one another. Announcements in the update reflect the many ways our people are serving God in our community. They do not reflect All Souls' endorsement of a particular issue, doctrinal position, or cause.
Beardsley Farm Raise the Roots Fundraiser
Join Beardsley Farm for a unique dinner at Holly's Corner (next to Magpies) on Monday, November 10th from 6-9 pm. Tickets are available for purchase here.
Food will be prepared by Holly's Eventful Dining staff. Hor d'oeuvres will be served beginning at 6 pm, and dinner will be served promptly at 6:30 pm. Guests will have an opportunity to learn about Beardsley Farm, meet farm volunteers, and share their experiences gardening and cooking in Knoxville and East Tennessee.

We focus on vintage swing music and dancing from the early 20's to late 40's. Are you interested in learning how to dance? From 7 - 8 pm there are beginner-friendly dance lessons open to everyone that are included in admission for the dance. Don't have a partner? Don't worry! We have classes that rotate partners so you'll get a chance to dance with everyone.
The floor is open for social dancing from 9 - 10:30. The most important thing is to have fun!

A superlative ensemble of choreographic virtuosity and versatility by both local and regional choreographers. McClung Museum: Birds, Bugs and Blooms: Natural History Prints from the 1500s-1800s 1327 Circle Park Drive , Knoxville TN
Drawing on the collections of the McClung Museum, the University of Tennessee Library's Special Collections, as well as private collections, this exhibit explores the fascinating intersection of art and science in the tradition of natural history illustration and features over fifty rare books, prints, and objects.
From 16th century imaginings of fantastical beasts, to the extremely accurate 19th illustrations of plants and animals, the works on view highlight how increasing access to travel, technology, and books, as well as the evolution of the field of science, changed how these artful illustrations were created and interpreted.

THURSDAY CONCERTS RETURN TO MARKET SQUARE FOR FALL SERIES
All concerts are free. There will be no alcohol or food sold on Market Square during the concerts, apart from what is available on the patios of surrounding restaurants. But concertgoers are invited to bring chairs or blankets to sit on the Square and enjoy the shows. Please follow the Special Events Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/CityofKnoxvilleSpecialEvents, to stay updated on the bands and on any cancellations due to the weather. All concerts begin at 7 p.m., at the Bill Lyons Pavilion on Market Square.

All Souls offers several classes for children during our Sunday evening service on the third floor. There is a nursery for babies under the age of one and two classes for 1 to 2-year olds that meets during the whole service on the third floor. Children between the ages of 3 and 11 stay for the first part of the service and then come upstairs for a time of Bible stories, songs and fun. If you have a crying or rambunctious child, we now have audio in the prayer chapel that streams the service so you don't have to miss anything.
